I think the reason that no animals got them, is because most animals probably died. A lot of them weren’t really made for the AO climate. Birds are staying strong, of course, but I don’t see how an elephant would survive these conditions.
For this fact, animals are at a minimum. This then makes it less likely for them to get Sea Curses.
What about the Sea Creatures? a Sea Curse will hover above water, because water hates it, so a sea creature couldn’t get it, and if it did, it wouldn’t live to tell the tale after it explodes.
A bird COULD get it, but I doubt many birds would go anywhere near an SUV-sized glowing object. If they did, they’d probably just be an easy mark to any magic user looking to get a Sea Curse.
