I realised that despite my snarky comment of “pressing G” which I made a couple hours ago being completely reasonable, original poster of this thread doesn’t have a proper grasp of lightning magic - and more importantly - any grasp on the meta.
It disdains me whenever I see people who of which I assume to be people who PvE a lot more than PvP try give a take on PvP - because they always end up dumbfounding me.
Who am I to speak on this though? Hello! I am 64arc, other than glazing my own Arcane Odyssey clan 24/7 on this site, I actually use 5 Lightning Files on my main account - and a wide variety of slots using lightning magic, and hence I feel as if I am one of the most qualified to speak on it.
I mentioned that I’ve ran a lot of slots using Lightning Magic, both in the present day and on now deleted slots - so for a bit of a giggle, I’m going to list my resume of lightning slots I’ve spent time PvP’ing on.

It doesn’t, it’s a sign that maybe you’re being heavily statchecked by your opponent, or you lack skill (I don’t want to assume the worst out of you - but I am inclined to).
I don’t think it has ever been about this - on release spamming pulsar was the way to go if you wanted to engage half your brain for double the results, followed by Crystal Iron Leg, which you rightfully mentioned. These are what the game used to be, in fact, these are some of the earliest metas inside of the game, so I have absolutely no idea what you’re trying to get at by saying that PvP in this game has been about comboing and strategy.
Do I want the PvP in this game to be more centered around thinking? Fuck yes, I want the same results you do, but you’ve got to realise that it has never been like that - and that it is not all too easy for all of this balancing to take place simultaneously.
Yes, lightning is a high performing magic, and consistently has been such, but lightning conjurer (the build I happen to main) does not even get close to touching the meta, and conjurer itself has always been rather well-rounded, and not too overpowered or underpowered compared to other builds.
As @StockSounds rightfully said, lightning conjurer was everywhere due to it’s popularity, take me for example, I’ve ran lightning magic since AA, when I was only 9 years old, because I thought it looked cool, it’s evident that a lot of other kids are going to think exactly like I did, hence why lightning is consistently one of the most popular magics to date.
Is lightning conjurer still solid though? Absolutely, it’s definitely way above average for a conjurer, high speed, high damage, low size, a stun synergy and a rewarding bleed synergy make it very well rounded, but I wouldn’t say it’s entered the meta.
Next time give a chat about Lightning/Water mage, not Lightning Conjurer, and you’re welcome for me clearing your muddled up mind.
