I primarily leave likes on posts I find particularly profound, thoughtful or funny. Not on random two-sentence comments which consists of the majority of the forum. Likes only mean something if they aren’t handed out like candy.

Eehhh, yeah, but to me, likes should reflect what you personally find interesting or compelling. Not a participation reward. I agree, this forum could stand to be more friendly—looking at any suggestion category will show you how stupid people can be—but at the same time, I think likes still should be given out for genuine enjoyment of a comment, rather than just to be “nice”.

Also, I swear to Prometheus this forum leaves more likes on the most basic, uncreative responses ever. Then when you say something genuinely thoughtful, everyone just ignores it. Like, I could just go to the next inevitable Acko fanart post and say “AWWWOOGGAAA! SMAAAASH!” and get like 3-4 likes. But if I typed out an actual essay on genuine issues of Arcane Odyssey, it’d get like a single Lightning reaction.
