ardent is really detrimental on positive damage weapons, as the decrease is more important. Sure the speed boost is nice, but kai is one of the best weapons to use ardent on (second best imo)

you still end up with more damage than if you were using a <1.0 weapon
yes but the difference between ardent and not on a weapon with 1x speed is less important than that on a weapon with >1x speed
