Hot take: I really didn’t like Iris. All I remember her doing is flaming some Ravenna soldiers when escaping the Eternal Mines. I hated her when we were off doing Stepstone quests. We were flying all over and Iris was just “asking the residents” and standing in the same place. Like, where were you when I was getting my ass kicked by Elius!?! I get why characters like Neviro and Morden were off, and it felt like they were doing smoothing within the story, but Iris kinda just… stands there.

It would be cliche for me to hate Elius and Calvus, mostly because they move like rats on meth on the first playthrough. But if there is one boss that ticks me off, its Architect Merlot.
Honestly, design and character wise, he is decent. Solid even. But goddamn why does he have to be poison user. Thematically it makes sense, poison is an assassin’s staple. Who wouldn’t hire a poison user.
But holy shit it is annoying to deal without barrels. Atleast Kai is more forgiving without barrels. No matter how much you dodge, parry, or block, the poison gets you. The health on this guy is a cherry on top. He’s tanky and gives you dot damage, ain’t that fun.
As a mage that solo’d him legit without cheesing or outside help, he isn’t that bad, might be because i spammed dodge reflexes to escape him.
