Why are some of yall like this

Because it’s dogshit design made for dogshit people.
It isn’t because you’ve increased a role-play stat that you should be stopped from playing the game, let alone stopped from fully completing it.

it is the stat for pvp score

this is just ignorance

are you serious??? you’re on the leaderboard, you aren’t some random high renown, you are actively placing yourself in a competitive situation and now you’re surprised that people want to fight you :sob: hoping this is bait

I placed this at the bottom of the post when people started commenting

doesnt change anything

just realized I misspelled aware

By extension of this, being forced to participate in a swimming contest against someone else anytime and anywhere merely because you’re one of the best in the world at it is normal and should be standardised.
This is of course if we assume that renown is a value that allows one to gauge how skilled a player is at PVP, something that it isn’t due to its different obtainment methods (PVE, ganking, teaming, etc.) and different ways to avoid the loss of (agility, swimming speed, etc.).

It’s funny how you all complain about something to the point that it gets “balanced” because of it (agility and swimming speed) and then proceed to ignore why you wanted it to be gone when it doesn’t support your argument.

The only way I think the badges could be reasonably obtainable in PvE and PvP would be to add a stat that’s exclusive to PvP (Glory, Prestige, Honor, etc) that puts you on the leaderboard. The only way Renown should effects the PvP stat would is that it dictates what crown you get on the player list

Buddy. This guy made a conscious decision to play on the leaderboard, knowing full well what would probably follow and the type of people they’ll meet on their climb. This is like going into a martial arts tournament and then crying about getting hit in the face.

First of all, I’m of the believe that no one needs a reason to gank other people as long as the two players are both playing games where PvP is either expected, is optional, or is always a choice. HOWEVER, in the context of ganking your analogy is correct.

But when it comes to leaderboard player, this doesn’t make any sense. You are comparing a random occurence to something that someone can prepare for or something that someone can be aware of doing.

You don’t have to assume anything. Player kills(regardless of the game) are rarely a gauge of skill and more so a gauge of how long someone has been playing a game. Renown isn’t so different- because as you said, there are a multitude of ways to gather it without fighting players.

And yet again your point only falls short because you’re talking about this under the context of the leaderboard. This person isn’t just playing the game normally, they are actively participating in the leaderboard which is LITERALLY BY DEFINITION COMPETITIVE MEASURE OF PLAYER ACCOMPLISHMENTS.
Making a post complaining about the leaderboard scene instead of talking about actual problems is just redundant and makes you seem like a prick.

Who are you even talking to here? Nobody in this topic mentioned the removal of agility or swim speed becoming a PVE gem stat until you did. If you’re referring to me you’d be making a hasty generalization- lumping all PVPers together and assuming they have the same opinions.

Whatever. In summary, just how you wouldn’t walk into a bathroom and complain about the smell, you don’t climb the leaderboard and complain about having to PVP. It was made for it.

I’d say I play the game relatively casually, it’s just that I play a lot. Other than that I generally avoid PvP because it’s just not my cup of tea. The reason I even made this post was initially not to complain about the existence of PvP or the implications of being on the leader board(hence the multiple images used are meant to be semi ironic). It was my initial reaction to being hunted by other leaderboard players like I’m a member of S.T.A.R.S which I found kinda funny. The only reason why I ended up on the leaderboard was, 1. An attempt to get a badge, and 2. To get lost envoy robes for a different slot. I basically fought my rival until I could get an exotic or legendary treasure chart and ended up on the leader board as a result of failed attempts.
Either I think this Topic should be nuked from orbit, anyways have a Nemesis

this analogy sucks. yeah, if you’re one of the best swimmers, you should probably do that. like, I don’t get this at all.

but as help for next time this comes around, please just leave if you feel threatened. a lot of my lb friends do this because they are PvErs, and it works really well. most people won’t witch-hunt you, and if they do, assemble the forums against them !!
