The number 13 literally can’t be connected to bad things supernaturally, this is reality.
but the mind is kinda hard to change, if this is really true and each instance of 13 I have seen followed by misfortune is just overreacting, how do I convince myself that?

do you tend to repeat the same few bad things everytime you see 13? like the same thing happens everytime? if so, try to put effort into preventing those problems instead of being superstitious

it’s probably just something like 13 is a very common number in life thanks to the value of 13 being coincidentally common or something idk
Long story short the number 13 is a “bad luck number” (according to the bible and the internet LOL)
But “bad luck numbers” change from culture to culture
Shit I wouldn’t be surprised if 1 2 3 4 5 6…100 meant bad luck in some folklore that i’m not even aware of
If I were you I would just take your mind off of it for now. Maybe you’ll see it less then, who knows? If it continues, well, probably just one of lifes mysteries

the reason why 13 is considered a bad luck number is just because thanks to the wonders of math I think it appears everywhere and people remember pain over other emotions, therefore remembering 13 over most other numbers because they saw it when they experienced the pain

You probably see at least hundreds of different numbers a day. You just don’t pay as much attention to them as you do the number 13 cause it stands out to you for some mental reason

I came back from my ancient 2020 pharaoh tomb to tell you that the more you notice it, the more you notice it, if you obsessed over the number 12, you’d start seeing it everywhere and making connections with the number to other stuff.
As for why bad things happen to you after you see the number 13, I think you are just making the connection because of the sighting of the 13, and you would not notice the bad thing as much if it did not follow a sighting, but that depends on the scale of the bad things, if something terrible happens everytime you see the number then I don’t know.

your paranoia with seeing 13 everywhere makes you notice it even more when you do see it again, meaning that its easier to remember you saw 13… which turns you even more vigilant for 13s… and every new one you see contributes to the first problem….
basically, you wouldnt even notice or care if the thought didnt cross your mind before. you probably see other numbers as often if not more, but they dont have the same reputation as 13
you also mentioned its been months, so that kinda confirms this theory as it gets worse the longer it lasts -
you mentioned clocks. necessarily, that means your schedule makes it likely for you to look at a clock around 1 pm.
