Chapter 0-1
The sound of footsteps can be heard
They belonged to a pair of twins, a boy and a girl, running for their lives across a crumbling rock bridge
While they were running, however, coming from the door behind them was a heavily injured sniper. Despite their condition, the masked sniper still managed to raise their gun and shot what seems to be a glowing bullet toward the girl. But right before they can hit her, the boy managed to block it using a dagger made out of ice, which seems to have absorbed the bullet the moment they touched
Realized that if they keep on running on the bridge, in a straight line, they would get hit sooner or later, the boy told his sister to keep running and make sure the other side doesnât have any ambushers while he stayed back to deal with the pursuers. The girl hesitated for a moment but then complied to her brotherâs request
In an instant, the boy conjured up several ice daggers and threw them at the injured sniper with deadly accuracy, killing them, who then fell down and vanish into thin air, leaving behind nothing but their equipments.
The brother then began to summon a massive ice wall to block off the bridge and prevent any incoming pursuers from attacking them. But before he could do that, he heard his sisterâs call, alerting him that the bridge was going to collapse
The bridge collapsed before the sister could reach itâs end, but she managed to get through by using her Arts to boost her jump. Her brother, however, wasnt so lucky
While he was in the middle of his jump, one of the incoming pursuers shot him in the back, causing him to start falling down. Luckily enough, his sister managed to create an obsidian platform for him to stand on. However, due to their Arts being restrained, her platform quickly disappeared, but lasted long enough for the boy to make another leap and grab the collapsing bridgeâs cliff
Unfortunately, that part broke off shortly after the boy grabbed it, making him fall down. Luckily for him, his sister managed to grab one of his arms right before he fall into the abyss
However, before she could pull her brother up, a glowing bullet went straight through her head, causing her to let go of her brotherâs hand, making him fall into the darkness below, with his sisterâs lifeless face as what he last saw before closing his eyes and accepting his fate

Shortly after the brother vanished into the seemingly bottomless pit, a masked man walked past the pursuers, whom all bowed down to him, followed behind him were a young man and a girl, whom both have some bandages on their head. The masked man looked at the sisterâs corpse before summoning a cloud of ashes to drag her body to him
And then he waited
Suddenly, the sister came back to life with her head showing no sign of injury. Upon seeing his face, she immediately summoned a pair of obsidian swords that looked like they were ready to burst into molten magma at any second and attacked him, but got restrained by his cloud of ashes before she could do anything else
The masked man then turned behind and asked the bandaged boy to report the number of âReplicorsâ that have escaped, to which he reported that allâŚ
He took a quick glance at the sister, before stating that all the other 3, along with some other subjects, have escaped, with the only Replicor remained being the sister whom the masked man was restraining
Hearing that, the masked man ordered both of them to locate and recapture them, stating that the Replicors are the most important assets to his plan, and if they were to be used against himâŚ
He then pulled the sister who had been restrained by his cloud of ashes toward him, stating that she will help him recapture her siblings, and that he will also make sure that she never disobeys him ever again
Slowly, he pulled out a gun and pointed it at her
And then he shot
But not to her head
No, this timeâŚ
The glowing bullet went straight through her chest instead
And something broke
Something so important
To her
To him
To all of them
She screamed
But no one will come to help
She struggled
But slowly, her consciousness drifted away
And for the first time in her existence
She can hear Death calling to her

But she refused
Exploded from her body, what seemed to be countless souls were trying to escape. The masked man reached out and start chanting in a language that no beings have ever heard of, ominous and otherworldly crimson-colored energy started whirling through his fingers
But before the spell was completed, several black tendrils rose from the sisterâs body and start wrapping around the souls, dragging them back to her. This surprised⌠and even stunned the masked man. Because at that moment, overflowing from her, the subject he considered a failure, was an immense amount of Ether Energy, comparable to that of an Elemental Sovereign
The masked man smirked, thinking to himself that maybe this child experiment wasnât a failure, after all. He blinked, but when he opened his eyes, what stared directly into him was the sisterâs empty, whirling circles that were supposed to be the windows to her soul, and only a few inches away from his neck, her obsidian swords were rapidly approaching
But before those blades of volcanic glass could make that day his funeral, the sisterâs body overloaded, the amount of pressure she was enduring was simply too much for her, and she collapsed
The masked man observed her, making sure that she was no longer able to move. In his heart, if it still existed, something started to be felt, an emotion that he has grown unfamiliar with after so long
Fear
After all those years wandering existing, it he hasnât felt so close to death before
After all those years, it he was reminded that: now, it he was nothing more than a mere mortal
Bruised all those thoughts aside, he went back into the building, but not before telling the young man to deal with the unmoving sister and to tell the bandaged girl to stabilize the dimension
The young man walked toward the sister before kneeling down and looked at her, his eyes seemed full of regret and pity
He put his hand on the sisterâs head, comforting her, before casting a spell, putting an end to her misery

Her consciousness started wavering
She heard voices
From people she has never knew
In languages she has never heard
And slowly, even though she struggled with all her might
Her own voice started fading away, drowned in an endless sea of consciousness that she will soon be a part of
In her last moments, she wondered whether she would ever see her brother again
Exhausted, she closed her eyes, and drifted away into an endless sleep, embarking on a journey through an eternal nightmare

The brother, who fell into the abyss and was thought to be dead, is now lying on a patch of grass in a forest filled with Ether Energy
He opened his eyes and, with a massive headache and no one by his side, began his journey

today is about the Order, the organization that most characters of the story are a member
warning, itâs long, very long ( 1533 words and 8446 characters )
Order of the Eight Sovereigns
Also simply known as the Order, this is an organization founded hundred of years ago by 8 people now known as the Eight Sovereigns with the purpose of protecting and maintaining peace in all of Drelikos. Currently, it is merely a husk of itâs former glory and has much less influence than it was before, but is still more or less considered a valuable ally ( or a dangerous threat ) by all major nations
Other than peacekeeping stuff, they also take various types of commissions from various sources, people dont work for them for free, after all. Itâs members are referred to as Servants and skill-wise, are classified into 6 ranks: Novice, Intermediate, Qualified, Adept, Elite and Exalted, which determines what kind of quest can they take
⢠Novice Ranks can only do non-combat quests, exceptions might be made sometimes but it requires at least one other Servant of higher rank (depending on how dangerous the quest is ) to go with them. Be noted that ( most of the time ) they are still trained in combat, itâs just that theyâre still new/ inexperienced and are just considered not ready for real combat yet. The quests they take if failed usually only affect a person or two. Their Level is usually around 0-1
⢠Intermediate Ranks can participate in low-level combat quests ( no mortality rate, might get some light injuries or even none ) but are still required to have at least one Qualified Rank or higher to go with them, unless the chance of someone dying is zero. The quests they take if failed usually only affect a small number of people. Their Level is usually around 2
⢠Qualified Ranks can participate in medium-level combat quests ( low mortality rate, might get some standard injuries ( idk if this even a word ) or lighter ), it is recommended that they go in groups but they can do it alone if they want. The quests they take if failed usually affect a decent number of people. Their Level is usually around 2-3
⢠Adept Ranks can participate in high-level combat quests ( medium mortality rate, might get some standard injuries or heavier ), it is recommended that they go in groups but they can do it alone if they want. The quests they took if failed usually affect a large number of people. Their Level is usually around 3
⢠Elite Ranks deals with important ( and dangerous ) stuffs such as escorting or protecting important individuals, finding some lost artifacts, exploring dangerous dungeons, yada yada. They can do lower-ranked quests too if they want. The quests they took if failed will affect a very large number of people or a few important people. Their Level is usually around 3-4
⢠Exalted Ranks are people capable of dealing with Kingdom-level threats ( not necessary fighting, sometimes it could just be finding and/or investigating important stuffs that may throw a kingdom into chaos if left unresolved, or protecting some children of a King or something, basically the same as the Elites but even higher ), but this rarely happens so their role is usually the same as the Elite. Needless to say, the quests they took if failed will affect an entire kingdom. Their Level is usually around 3-4 and rarely, 5

Before succumbing to her injuries, she created a permanent snowstorm around the archipelago to protect it from outsiders and gave whatâs left of her power to her most trusted allies, creating whatâs now known as the Frost Reapers
⢠William is still alive to this day as he was sealed away during most of The Conspiracy, only managed to break out at the very end of it, when The Great Explosion was about to happen. Seeing that, he raised an entire mountain range, which is now known as the Elder Wall, to shield half of the Mainland from being destroyed before passing out due to exhaustion
⢠Ayumu broke her limits several times during The Conspiracy, which made her lost her mind and memory
⢠Levana took Ayumu and returned to Arthyu, the kingdom that Levana was the ruler of back then as she was disgusted by whatâs happened during The Conspiracy. Ayumi did eventually become normal again and they both died of natural causes later on
⢠Hesiod was killed when The Great Explosion happened, which also rendered half of mainland uninhabitable
⢠It is unclear how Tajana died or who killed her, though it is known that she was the first Sovereign to be slain

Higher Ranks can only take quests of at most 2 Ranks lower than them ( Adept Ranks can only take Intermediate Ranksâ quests at the lowest, for example ), This is to prevent the higher Ranks from taking all the quests and leave nothing for the lower Ranks to do. However, if a quest has been left unfinished for sometimes ( usually 1-3 months ), anyone of higher Ranks would be able to take it
It should be noted that the common misconception, Rank = Power, is wrong not entirely correct. As there are many types of quests other than just combat, such as finding stuffs, investigating stuffs, delivering stuffs,⌠or even just helping with daily chores ( they need the money, okay ), some high-ranked Servants could simply just be ( very ) good at what their job. Another exception is the Sovereigns themselves, who are classified as Exalted Ranks simply because they were/are the Orderâs founders/leaders, so Rank could also represent how important they are to the Order
