World of Magic / AO PvE and PvP magic inclinations. V1.0

The fact that you can clear status effects makes it useful for PvE as well…

I get your reasoning tho

“it has high speed and average damage, that makes it more pvp inclined”
“its high speed and average damage make it a nice pve magic”

Notice that I never say you specifically have to use it this way.

I thought you just said clashrates don’t matter for PvP ;—;

Again, that was not me writing, its my partner, I intend to fix these issues.

Ok thanks!

no im just showing you that the way these are listed is completely random. you stick a PvP/PvE tag on them then list that magics attributes.

I list the attributes so you know why I put them in that category.

Personally, I’ve had experience will all of these magics. For example, I’ve been clapped by wind more times that I can count. The reason for that is its fast speed and average damage. While it doesn’t give a DoT effect, the fact that it’s hard to see in certain variants, and that most people use it for PvP, leads me to believe that it is more PvP inclined.

If you also read a certain part of the post, you’d know that this is an opinion. I also say to take it with a grain of salt.

ones that are wrong

acid is both, acid has a strong dot with decent speed and interactions with other magics, and even bleed which is easy to get on npcs.

crystal is bad because it’s slow and any good player can easily get out of its way, but npcs cant really do that. its also much easier to get bleed on npcs, making it more of a pve magic.

thats just wrong, any good player knows how to break out of being frozen with any magic

you forgot to include that its way too easy to paralyze random npcs

magma is stronger than acid and has really good status effect clearing, its very versatile with defense, its good upclose, and has area control with puddles that keep adding up over the course of a fight

thats just wrong, it has the same damage as crystal, which is pretty high

clash rates make an s tier bad? right

so its outclassed by just about everything but its still better than top tiers for pvp? ok

thats just wrong as well. it has medium damage with one of the biggest sizes in the game, along with decent speed

this entire thing is wrong. wind has good damage, great speed, and a special effect on knockback. it is a pvp magic though

but they can also go the other way. the attributes don’t make a magic more inclined towards pve/pvp.

we can all agree that acid is significantly better than crystal when it comes to pvp. yet acid is listed as a pve magic while crystal is listed as a pvp magic.

you see how this can be misleading?

Not even reading that because you said wrong as if there’s a right or wrong here.

ok enjoy being ignorant then

If you read the post, it’s called an opinion. I never said you had to use them a certain way. Go ahead and used Acid as a PvP magic. I don’t really care. But the fact that it has DoT dmgs and leaves puddles, leads me to believe that its PvE in nature.

new player comes along and sees this post, they want a pvp magic.
acid would obviously be the better choice when it comes to pvp, but the new player picks crystal instead since it’s listed as a pvp magic while acid isn’t.

do you see how it can be misleading now? im not sure how much clearer i can make it.
:frsleepin:

It’s not misleading though. Acid is in nature more PvE inclined.

Here’s why:

  1. Acid does tick damage. This tick damage is useful for bossing and DPS.
  2. While yes, you can use it for PvP, thats not the point of the post.
  3. The point of the post is to discuss magics and which side of the spectrum they naturally drift to.
  4. In this case, Acid’s properties are more of a PvE type magic, and would be useful in PvE situations.

wtf? damage over time is insane in pvp too since it stops or reduces regen. vetex has said it himself that they’re counters to regeneration if people can’t handle it
