Year 8 without Lost Magics

if you count curse users at least we have an amount of weapon and fighting style users, like the slash curse and wave curse owners

I say we just delete magic in its entirety, focus development on weapons and strength

ah yes, odyssey.

then a spirit slot you can equip 1 weapon to with 8 preset moves

I love fighting styles and stuff but in some ways I have to agree magic will always be the favorite child so maybe we should have just focused on it, only issue is then what would npcs use? Cuz it wouldn’t really make sense lore wise for everyone to use magic

Simple solution really. Even Arcane Adventures had weapons and fighting styles, they were simply just less valuable than magic to Vetex.

ig so but Arcane Adventure Npcs were also kinda boring compared to Ao I like the diversity idk im really split on this

If they weren’t magic wielders they were the most boring thing to fight

Oh but in world of magic half the NPCs where bandits using blades and bows.
They did not have a lot of potential but they certainly where trying.

Powerful physical warriors that could challenge mages did exist like the minotaur but that thing was some sort of half giant not a human.

The Exiled could do pretty well at it. He even had a Fighting Style of some sort.

He had?
All I remember of the exiled is he had a magic sword which would send waves that pierced all terrain and me running for my life.

Well, I guess that’s what the purple color and the halved incoming damage is, because he has dialogue stating it.
Mind you, this was a time before Weapon Aura, but after Fighting Styles.

I always thought his damage reduction was either him shielding everything or special armor.
Then again if he mentioned fighting styles that dialog definitely went over my head as I knew nothing of Arcane Adventures back then.

eighth-giant if I recall

stocksounds is going into semantics again, exiled talks about his “style of fighting” in his dialogue

Bruther, don’t you put “style of fighting” in quotes, the exact words are “fighting style.”

semantics
ao player isnt canonically a mage turned savant because morden says the two are mages
nor are all spirit weapon users automatically oracles because lore doc says a spirit weapon user is an oracle

I mean, in this franchise, fighting style means one thing, and one thing only, ever since AA, and Vetex knows that, I’d assume.
Don’t act like I’m an idiot for thinking the guy with miscellaneous secondary powers that’d be typical of a Fighting Style isn’t just using figures of speech

…he’s blocking
