Yipee! No Exhaustion Mechanic!

alright, or just a timer from in combat. since if someone does max power slam on you the second you spawn, you wouldn’t be able to love gel.

as someone who pvps often i also think the exhaustion mechanic is stupid

but
i think the agility rework is needed

Yeah, even with how infrequently I pvp I know the frustration of being endlessly kited by someone you have no hope of catching up to. I understand entirely the reasoning behind the mechanic, I just think it should be easily worked around.

here’s the thing

the workaround for this, is agility. it only lowers it by 75% so the only way to actually run, is to run more agility :sob:

I cannot emphasize enough that you are in a thread where people are celebrating the idea that a mechanic doesn’t get added to the game because they would all hate it and it would actively make the game less enjoyable for them.

Please take that into consideration when deciding if its delayed or scrapped.

"b- but- but im smarter and know what’s best for the game!!! the only people that will leave will be the toxic pvpers!!! "

You are not helping.

The agility momentum reduction in TU works pretty well (a bit too well) so the exhaustion mechanic may be scrapped or adjusted to be even more lenient since the momentum reduction will make it harder to dash away from people naturally.

I’ve proposed some adjustments to Agility in TU to make the momentum penalty a bit less harsh and increase dodge efficiency in the meanwhile to see how it turns out.

I’m not referring to meta with that post

im referring to another balance team member ive met (they arent on the forums)

Give me running, or give me death!

Its a mechanic intended to keep people in combat and make escaping harder, yes?

From that point forward, how intense it is or what method is used does not matter, they will hate it all the same.
I hate to break it to you, but a lot of people just don’t want anything to do with PvP.
Forcing those people to interact with PvP will make them quit.

Facts, spit your shit!

Go go gadget run from the 1000 damage metal mage!

I’ll just say that like, it isn’t getting added anytime soon and plans are well subject to change, so there shouldn’t be so much concern about it right now. It can very well be scrapped entirely if I can properly work out the numbers with the current agility rework that was set.

We take these considerations like these into account since running is a very controversial, but at the end of the day it is largely based on how much of a perceived issue it is by the balance team compared to every other balance issue on our plate. We try not to get the gameplay of casual players harmed in the process with stuff like this whenever possible.

Your honor,
The balance team is just salty that their opponents don’t wanna fight.

That is fair, but at the end of the day, if a mechanic like this is ever added, it should apply solely to people on the leaderboard or holding a player’s bounty poster.

The people who actively PvP and initiate combat should not be allowed to run, not the random undergeared noob that just so happened to get slightly too much fame that they’re jumping.

exactly

the balance team is extremely seperated from the casuals, since the majority of players dont care enough to contact them

This only benefits people who ruthelessly kill low-skill players.

This would be nice to address on its own but a combat tag rework (which would address this particular issue gracefully) is never gonna happen sadly.

Honestly still confused on that one, vetex had several different flavors of combat tag in WoM, I’ll admit that they didn’t work particularly well, but the framework is there.

I wonder why he’s so reluctant to give it another go.
