make movement more fluid, less 100 to 0 velocity stops (thinking holding/charging a move slowly stops you, not instant)
Make it singleplayer with Co-Op and focus more on the story and consequences in it. Fort Talos for example would actually be collapsed in a singleplayer story. Dark Sea functions more like a fast paced Rogue-like area. PvP is relegated to special servers with clan functions implemented there, like a “Contested Isles” or something rich in resources that everyone in the War Seas wants. Clan and pvp stuff can happen here, loot and stuff you gather here are subject to being lost and taken if you die, but if you survive and escape you can drop it off at your clan storage and then make gear and items for yourself. You can passively gain the clan resources by taking over islands, dependent on the island, the resources gained will vary. Events like weather or sea events are amplified in the Contested Isles, but it’s not to the constant and extreme extent like in the Dark Sea as you have relatively clear skies.
The Sea Monsters in the Contested Isles could also vary since the constant warring pollutes the sea heavily, so they’d spawn with modifiers. While on the topic of Sea Monsters; Sea Monster and Boss Monsters (ie. Dragons) would function differently in how you obtain their gear. Both monster types will now drop materials that you can use to forge gear, however, in the Dark Sea and Contested Isles, these monsters will be able to drop “Modified Monster Parts”. These modified monster parts will have a trait, that when used in lieu of conventional parts, will transfer that modifier to the crafted weapon. There won’t be any definitive “best”, only the “best sources” of a modifier. There’ll be the base modifier that affects how the monster is stated and does, and then there’ll be a tier modifier. So a “Legendary” monster would drop a modifier of say, “Hemo”, of a higher potency than a “Strong” monster. Hemo in this case for weapons boosting or adding bleed damage, whereas for armor it’ll add a bleed resistance. Monster Parts could also be used to craft a jewel with it’s effect reduced, and then applied to other weapons or armor.
Contested Isles and Dark Seas would have different modifiers unique to them, with the shared modifiers in the Dark Sea being more corrupted versions of the Contested Isles where they give and take in exchange for something stronger.
- Rework fleets to not be a semi afk grind at endgame and also be accountwide
- All non-renown titles should be accountwide
- Professions should be accountwide
- Sea exploration stats should be semi-accountwide (can still gain exploration xp but total prog cumulative)
- Pouch slot count should be accountwide
Don’t care if these are not immersive changes; these are things you should only need to progress/attain once from a gameplay perspective
