That’s why bro’s fodder. Imagine if he focused on his Aether magic or maybe at most Aether + his Trident. He’d actually probably one shot Neviro and beat the player. Instead, he has a glaring weakness where he has to charge up his Aether magic attacks to actually do damage, and his imbuements take time before he does an attack.
Keep in mind he was trained by argos and the order. Brother imagine being taught by essentially the tentacle illuminati on the fighting style of “iron leg savant”
Calvus had potential, but he didn’t have the time to properly train as a Savant. He should’ve prioritized his weapon and his magic. Weapon’s already a solid close range option.
Savant can be alright but doing aether conj with the triasta would be really fitting for him in my own opinion, I just don’t think him having a fighting style fits.
If you noticed, he’s most vulnerable when he does a smash with his fighting style. He’s less vulnerable with his weapon since he mostly uses it to grab and do huge damage. If he focused on ranged options and his weapon grab, he’d be a way harder boss than he is now.
Makes me wonder… the bosses in Full Release’s story additions (so excluding the juraserva bosses / spirit minibosses) could be better trained than Calvus, and a lot more deadly. Don’t think any boss that’ll be in the added story will have the same grandiosity of Calvus, though, save maybe the Curse user we’ll be fighting.
only thing notable about calvus is he has a lost magic, otherwise he just has a single weapon and is using ironleg with only crash and smash (so hes probably low strength invests)
