A Decently Arcane Anecdote (Chapter 1)
“Look, when I ordered a shipment of gunpowder barrels, I wasn’t expecting them to be dropped on my head!” A tall man screamed, standing in a pile of rubble.
He was dressed in all black, with a hood to conceal his face, if you ever spoke to pirates long enough, you would know him as Agni, The Charred. A dangerous fire magic user if anyone has ever seen one, but not someone you should make angry.
“I’m sorry, there haven’t been any clouds recently and…” said the gunpowder delivery sailor.
“Silence” Agni commanded, just as he commanded respect from his crew.
On the topic of his crew, suddenly a shout came.
“Navy!”
Now the person who said this is of great interest to this anecdote, they were Phoenix Winter, master of both Blizzard and Phoenix magic, they were also Agni’s second in command.
I would explain the large-scale naval battle next, but I don’t think we have enough sad backstories yet. You see, Phoenix Winter was born on an island called Ravenna, which as well as being greatly important to the story, had little to no importance in this story. Enough of that, let’s get to the sad part. Phoenix Winter’s brother - Carl Winter - was a prominent member of the Grand Navy. That was until Phoenix saw him shot in the back by his own admiral.
Yeah, that seems good for a traumatic backstory, time for the large-scale battle I was on about earlier.
Agni’s Crew jumped to action, and almost instantly began sailing their ketch towards the Grand Navy sailboat. Agni jumped aboard with the power of God and Anime game logic. “Those Gravy scum!” he shouted with unusual excitement, especially for someone about to blow up a boat.
All of a sudden a shout came from the Grand Navy’s boat.
“Surrender now or face the wrath of Major Jane Doe, a user of paper magic!”
“Paper magic was removed ages ago,” said another member of the Grand Navy.
“Who Cares” replied the first sailor.
“Ultimate Art: Blazing Extreme”
And that is how the boat blew up, and the not very large-scale battle ended. Anyway, I would continue this story but this is about as many fourth wall breaks as I can handle for today.
(In all seriousness, I hope you like my first bit of writing on the forums, any and all feedback is appreciated.)
