I actually had the same thought long ago, but I became a little uncertain since the choice was unrelated to Morden and such a small choice shouldnt really affect Morden losing it or not. Doesnt mean it wont happen, thinking back on it now, that choice changes MC’s mindset, meaning it still can affect interactions with other characters.
I was thinking in particular about the likes of what Morden would think of the MC’s actions, as he learns about them and possibly witnesses them.
Wdym foils?
On other words, theyre just two characters that are complete contrast or opposites to each other. I had a feeling Morden is supposed to be MC’s foil like how Neviro and Iris are set up as foils/opposites as described in Morden’s journal.
Both are significant as Morden and MC had similar experiences and both have importance to the story as both are implied to be god descendants, yet they appear to have opposite personalities (Morden is said to be polite and quiet, MC is more talkative, everyone knows who MC is, no one knew who Morden was)
An MC’s character foil is also often referred as “The Lancer” in stories.
