A Message From Vetex: The Discussion

We don’t exactly hate AO, we’re just tired of vetex’s bullshit

As Genesis said, if you know what you’re doing, you could adapt AO’s story to a fair amount of genre without sacrificing too much. Since the story was imagined to be for an RPG game, you’d think that it would be the best possible fit, if anything.
Furthermore, vetex’s main reasoning is this:

Sure, that much is true, but if you’re smart about how you write your story, you can easily mitigate the effects of this.
A frequent complaint is how none of the characters feel like characters, they just feel like tropes or plot devices. There were countless suggestions on how to fix this, the most common idea being a chapter at Palo Town.
If vetex bothered to actually write characters and a story instead of hype moments and aura, he could probably greatly reduce the delay caused by new islands being built simply by adding story parts that keep the player at already made locations longer.

And, of course, we can’t ignore what vetex calls the root issue to this:

If out of probably millions of devs you can’t muster even half a dozen to work with you, and insist it’s because ‘finding good ones who are mature and listen is insanely rare’, maybe it’s you who should re-evaluate your standards and general demeanor.
