it isn’t no longer a magic, it’s just not in the war seas
this is very much a slippery slope way of thinking, there is nothing saying that a special imbuement with a particular element needs that element to be made unavailable as a magic
The war seas is practically the only thing that’s stagnantly canon. If it’s not canon to the War Seas, it may as well not be canon at all.
the seven seas are still canon, and will likely be explored when vetex starts writing books
How could they have everything and not Steam Magic?
Some magics likely got lost to time because they were useless
Although phoenix is confirmed to be fire with more wind affinities I don’t think it would make any sense to mutate from wind, especially since wind has well over enough possible mutations (also wave would make sense for a wind mutation I thinks). Also I’m interested in the explanation for flare in poison cause the only thing I can think of is solar radiation but that’s not even part of flare (for some reason). Phoenix only really makes sense to mutate from fire or heat based magics since the wind attribute comes from the ability to summon wings which would produce wind as a side effect rather than casting wind related magic directly.
they don’t have everything, and neither do the 7 seven seas, each sea either lost a few magics or developed new ones as time went on, resulting in them having slightly different selections to choose from
where did you get this cause I thought the different seas having different magics was retconned
Stock just put a bunch of magics into ones like poison which have nothing linked because “they’ll have nothing 11!” (Vetex likely has ideas for them that aren’t released yet)
I put flare into Poison during the early portions of the list, where I had assumed I would need to be very loose with my selections. I really just did it because of DoT. Should I change that?
I respectfully disagree. Although it’s sort of the fire mutation, wind affinity is wind affinity.
It’s a typo, it has always said this
(This is a screenshot of that card before it got changed to hide the lost magic list)
Yeah the dot thing doesn’t really make sense for that, I would put darkness with poison though but that’s also stretching it
got it
Idk but flare could replace it since vetex stated once that flare was kinda a mishmash of plasma and wind, and solar winds are a thing alongside the particles being almost 1:1 with wind other than the coloration and brightness. Or just add onto it with phoenix idk this is just predictions
I moreso have some issues with keeping Mud on there when it was like officially deconfirmed by Vetex (and is the whole reason we cant even view the lost magics list due to its removal)
I have faith that it was undeconfirmed, Vetex changes his mind a lot. Regardless, I have it in the “maybe not” list.
It’s definitely a “not” compared to a “maybe not”, I’d just cut it from this list entirely
I’ve been waiting for a long time for a credible source to come in and say yes or no to a lot of this. Currently we have two, answers given by unrelated means. Growth and Steam.
I think we can just wait.
i can’t find something stating this exactly, but here vetex confirms that cloud magic still exists, a previous planned mutation from aa times, despite it never appearing on the lost magic list for ao
we also know of new magics that weren’t in aa like snow and glass, but i suppose it would be possible to retroactively add them to the seven seas lore
