A Mutation Chart Odyssey

Assuming the number didn’t go up over time, and then adding 11 just to account for the people who aren’t involved in the stories but still have losts.

I’m so confused, where is the assumption that only that many people had gotten lost magics by the time Cursebeard forced Prometheus to make the elemental curses coming from?

Because, like, 0.2% of the non-curse-using MODERN population has a lost or ancient magic in their hands, so there’s no way that the people from waaaay back then had more. And at that point, there just aren’t enough to go around. You’d have like 20 or more losts and ancients going completely undiscovered, yet most of them still got made into curses.

don’t forget that we’re living in the time after the entire world exploded

And after technology, especially in magic, advanced even further.

but also a much lower population, like at most there’s half as many people left now

Wise…
Whatever. We’re working with sheer estimation anyway.

I wonder, if Aurem isn’t canon anymore, how did anybody ever even get Hecate Shards to mutate before Hecate died?

they didn’t

Where did they get the mutations then?

they didn’t
mutations were only after hecate died

Then how were curses made of mutations before they came to exist?

Okay so multiple things, 1 the people who had lost or ancient magics at the time were the exception as only the people who discovered them and any of their adult children by the end of the war of the gods could’ve had any of those magics at the time. So its not like there were more of them than there are lost magic users now.

Secondly a lot of mages now do have what were lost magics back so again they did advance they just haven’t advanced to the point where every single exception has become the norm.

They didn’t. Hecate shards were released into the world like right after Prometheus killed Hecate and a bit before he gave magic to humans.

hecate died before sea curses dawg

How did that happen?

read the lore doc a bit just now, and people actually couldn’t even control/use any magic until prometheus took hecate’s authority over it and gave everyone control

read follest’s reply dawg im too tired for this

hecate died way before curses were made

How did Prometheus kill Hecate and just get away with it?

Prometheus stole Hecate’s authority over magic so she decided to blow herself up instead of just becoming a spirit like the other gods do when they die. Presumably she did this to fuck over Prometheus and hey it worked the magics gained through hecate shards are the reason Cursebeard attacked Olympus.
