Did you know that Wind has Gravity as a mutation? Because they both move things.
Shadow seems to be the Energy magic of inherently bad or dark things. Having your energy stolen, or being crushed under gravity, both bad things.
Sacrificing your own health to damage others, bad. Playing with Death, bad.
Light is the Energy magic of inherently good things. Life.
well from a more abstract perspective, wind can also crush things, and one of gravity’s ancient counterparts is pressure.
I’m fairly sure the AA chart is actually still the one used for canon mutations. It’s just that some mutations are now Lost Magics and others aren’t.
dude this is the dumbest logic I have ever seen at this point we can say heat magic is a shadow mutation because getting burned alive is bad
Well, that’s different, it’s more of a miscellaneous category in that manner.
I mean, come on now, explain Sacrifice as a Shadow mutation. Do it.
Steam should be water exclusive, shouldnt be on fire
Blasphemy!
Can’t make Steam without a heat magic.
Also, I’ve tried to make as few of them exclusive as possible.
And yet magma exists without earth magic
Huh?
But… steam is water. Heat’s just used to ma-
You know what? Why am I trying to make sense of this? The system’s been changed so much we’re both probably wrong.
You can mutate it from fire
Also water is way more important than heat for steam
Yeah, true.
I think Fire and Steam is enough of a connection.
because sacrifice is a very cultlike and sanguine magic with a red and black color scheme?
AKA it fits shadow’s theme of “dark and macabre and forbidden” very well?
Yes, but that doesn’t mean Fire wouldn’t get it.
It’s even on the AA mutation chart!
But that’s what I was going for!
Sure Gravity isn’t bad, and Wave is only a little bit mean, fine whatever…
You’re kinda right, I just lowered my standards a bit to give some more options for the one with the lowest amount on the AA mutation chart.
I was fairly damn certain with Wave though!
And on Light?!
What does wave have to do with light?
I should remove Sound from Shadow though.
Tell you what, I’m re-adding wave to shadow, it’s getting a (?) though.
I think one of the easiest ways to organize magic families is based on their visuals, primarily.
when you think of a magic like shadow, you think of darkness, occult practices, spooky things.
when you think of wave, it’s just… either a hazy blue energy or a weird science diagram explaining how particles move.
a hero with shadow magic would definitely be odd compared to a villain with shadow
but a hero with wave is about the same as a villain with wave because wave magic itself doesn’t have that reputation surrounding it, it has no alignment.
I think that’s where you’re being lost. It has nothing to do with actual scientific waves, unlike gravity being gravity.
It’s called “wave” because it’s not even a real thing. Its only characteristics are “Blue” and “Moving”.
…you’re kidding right?
Truly, no idea what similarities Light and Wave have.
