A Mutation Chart Odyssey

even if that’s the case how do those 2 extremely basic words fit in at all with “evil” and “forbidden”

I’m not even going for the evil part, just the suck.

well, I assume wave actually looks like waves, so uh, the wavelength of light is like… yea

we are going in circles

:man_facepalming:

That’s even more stupid than Wave being evil.
I’ll give you a choice.

  1. Leave it, and let it be on both Shadow and Light
  2. Get two people to agree with your standpoint, and have it removed from both.

HOW?

AT LEAST WAVELENGTH HAS THE WORD WAVE IN IT

“ah yes this magic does a bad thing to its opponent just like every other magic in existence therefore it is obviously a shadow magic mutation” WHAAT???

Okay, it’s not JUST that it’s a negative thing, it’s that it has an ADDED negative trait, that has to do with sapping in some way, and is an energy magic that is hard to categorize.

It has nothing to do with wavelengths. That’s just the word.
Light Magic has even LESS to do with wavelengths, I’d argue. It’s just bright.

that’s because light magic is on the visible wavelength spectrum bruh :sob:

and I doubt wave was named that for no reason I assure you it probably does actually look like a wave

guys, aether magic can char people (an added negative trait) it’s obviously a shadow mutation trust!

can we have the magic ideas put on this list
make em bold so people know they just concepts
and have like a voting system to decide if they are good enough to be on list

No, hold on, really. You’re trying to connect Light Magic to Wave Magic because light has wavelengths and Wave is a wave of energy?

Maybe an honorable mentions section below the post, but I’m not gonna do the votings.

I had a stroke reading this ngl

Sorry, re-read after edit.

okay here’s where I think the confusion is coming from

remember, technically all magic is just chaos(?) trying to imitate something, it can be literal, like fire or water, it can be abstract, like shadow and death, and it can be conceptual, like gravity, and wave.

you see, wave is just technically a more advanced light because it specializes into the conceptual phenomena that’s responsible for light itself to even exist, whereas light is a base magic because it’s just 1 specific wavelength on the very large spectrum.

So you think that Wave Magic is a magic based on waves like Electromagnetic Waves?

Why does it steal magic energy then?

I don’t really know what the whole deal with stealing magic energy is, but then again at the same time, I don’t think getting hit with a blast of essentially nothing (shadow) would make you go colorblind.

It’s probably just a placeholder because if wave didn’t have any special effects it’d be kind of random lol

I’m not accepting that reasoning.
“idk bro, shadow is even weirder” is just further connecting it to Shadow for me.

I got this one, but i just got another idea for what it can do that fits with the name

Lost Magic Idea- Scatter Magic

Glass/Metal/Ash/Sand Mutation
User shoots out a flurry of shrapnel lacerating any target
Effect- Bleed

OG idea

The attacks would create clouds of metal dust that wouldn’t deal any damage, but would have many synergies
It could be superheated by heat magics, and frozen by cold magics
It could also be hit by lightning, doing high damage to anyone in the clouds (maybe paralyze anyone who is already in when it’s electrified?)
The clouds would do damage if the target has bleed, regardless of if it was synergized or not.
After a bit, the clouds would settle into piles of dust, that would also be synergizable

New Idea

Attacks expand the further they move, doing less damage but having more size
Maybe also give attacks a slight piercing effect, where they still move for a bit after hitting a target / the ground

okay think of it this way.

getting hit by a large crystal shouldn’t make literal crystals grow on your body

clearly, not everything should be looked into so deeply, because if we do, apparently everything ties to shadow.

It doesn’t make crystals grow on your body, it embeds crystals into your body, because you just got hit with a bunch of sharp crystals.

That’s what I’m saying. You’re the one getting far far too scientific.
