A Personal Observation on Sky Island Dwellers

Overview

The War Seas is Silly
In contrast to real life where we rely on technology to best an obstacle, which is why we advance further after wars, the people of the AU use UNGA BUNGA ULTIMATE ART: MASSIVE BALLS!

They already have access to island destroying bullshit and sentient superweapons (Curse Users), therefore humans are the biggest threat they could come across atm, so no development as a species.

I do not doubt the constant warring deprives the AU of people with more than 2 braincells either.

I am probably insanely stupid and looked into this too deeply.

Magic is a very destructive force, iirc it is a form of Chaos.

However, the Cirrus Island peoples have used it to their advantage to make sky boats. They also seem to be more curious about the world around them, maybe because they do not have to worry about wars 24/7, as proven by the guy experimenting on Island Clouds.
While this may not seem like much, they do show quite a lot of potential on advancement as a species.

Skyhall, however, seems to have much more influence and is probably way larger as a community than Cirrus Island, so we may be seeing more cool things with a mix of magic and engineering along with a lot of racism.

I don’t even know anymore, I’m bored atm sorry you had to read this stupid low quality topic

You do have a point actually, Cirrus island is probably one of the the safest and most pleasant people in the war seas because they aren’t aligned with any kingdoms, plus out of reach from pirates and whatnot. So without all that nonsense, they would naturally be more inclined to advancement and curiosity

skyships don’t use magic (or rather don’t use magic to create), they just soak up clouds with some I believe it was arcanium or something and release it to fly. You don’t need any magic to create arcanium

It is still kind of harnessing magic as a source of energy to power their boats which is cool imo

(thank you for reminding me they were referred to as sky ships I somehow forgot LOL)

Skyhallians with their F10’s and B-52’s: “Look what they need to mimic a fraction of our power.”

skyhallians with their perfect gale supernova potions

I summon thee… Anti Air Curse! UNAVOIDABLE LIGHT BLAST GO!

Metal curse user + lightning curse user + earth curse user making multiple anti air and coastal batteries:

They may be putting themselves behind by having magic and thus not needing technology, but it cancels itself out because magic allows for technology to go faster.
Also the Ancient folks who lost their blueprints in the Dark Sea invented mounted flamethrowers and then combined them with cannons, and then made them look sick as hell.
Dragonfire Carronades confuse me.

The word ‘makeshift’ and ‘flamethrower’ doesn’t go well together
People from civilizations have tried mounting flamethrowers on their ships before
It didn’t end well

One fuel leak and they dead.

It would be really funny if high-reach/power siege weaponry could hit sky islands and make them fall.

Imo all of that is true, but I do feel like they’d be at a disadvantage when it comes to offensives, here’s why:

  • Access to the sea is necessary
  • Positions cannot be held for too long from the sky (unless they can create new magic cloud sources)
  • Supplies are limited (no sea-land ownership, much less minerals and trees are available because of that)
