So I suppose we all know how sea curses work. They’re the purest form of magic energy, only one elemental curse exists for each magic and when you absorb them, your body becomes pure magic. However, that means you can’t be submerged in seawater because its magic radiation will clash with your own, causing you to blow up and die.
Now, Wotan, ruler of Keraxe, wields the wood curse. It is mentioned that because of his ability, he can make some of the strongest ships in the world. I think we can safely assume that it’s because he has absolute control over wood, so the ships are made with his curse.
But here is the issue: ships are supposed to go in water. And we clearly see them doing so. But if they’re made with a sea curse, that means they are the sea curse, which also means they are extensions of Wotan’s body.
That means that any ship Wotan makes using his curse, no matter how well it’s made, is doomed to explode as soon as it touches seawater. This also means that Wotan should blow up as well, since it’s an extension of his body that is in the sea.
Yet we see 3 Keraxe caravels and 1 Keraxe ketch when we leave port Mistral that are floating just fine. And, even if those weren’t made with Wotan’s power, surely the Fenrir is, seeing as it’s a floating fortress.
How does this work? Why isn’t Wotan blowing up, despite huge parts of his body constantly being submerged in seawater? If those are no longer his body, how do they exist? At what point is something made by a curse user no longer their body?
curse users can create (and manipulate) the real form of their element
wotan could create real authentic wood that doesn’t dissipate
no sea curse attack/abilities are not the sea curse itself
I’m pretty sure that breaks a ton of important laws in chemistry, physics and biology
For example, matter cannot be created or destroyed
AO getting more plot holes than swiss cheese
magic
Literal gods aren’t supposed to exist either but here we are.
This is a series where people can create attacks of various elements out of thin air, magic doesn’t care about laws
nah, really? the fantasy universe has fantasy elements??? this is a breakthrough here’s your nobel prize
Breaking physics isn’t a plot hole, it happens all the time in sci-fi and fantasy. You’re kinda supposed to suspend your disbelief here. It would be a plot hole if the power system contradicted itself at a point, but thats not whats happening here.
how is not being scientifically accurate a plot hole??
lmao dude
it’s not touching seawater
Yeah but that can shatter the economy then, if a gold curse user just uses his power, gold becomes worthless for example
Byproducts of the Curse are not affected by the limitations of the Curse. The Curse itself is part of the person’s body, which is where the magic energy is for the weakness against Magic-Irradiated salt comes from.
Wotan can create beam which would damage us, but his ships won’t damage us on contact if we touch them. How?
his ships do damage us if it rams into us at a million kilometers an hour like a beam does
So curse’s damage is physical, while magic’s damage is magical lol?
prob not
seriously speaking a curse user could probably also imbue their created elements with magic energy to replicate a magic attack
They can’t… it is immense pain for curse user to use his magic energy.
