When wandering around on a random, insignificant wilderness island far away from anything else, you could come across a small, silver coin on the shore. It would look like the old Lamina icon from Arcane Adventures. When approaching it, a small cutscene would begin of your character picking up the coin.
On your screen, the following messages would appear: (or something similar)
“While picking up the mysterious object”
“A vague sense of familiarity washes over you”
“You do not know what it is, yet you somehow remember it”
“Somehow you feel as it belongs to you”
After this, you’d get the Mysterious Coin as an item in your inventory. It wouldn’t serve any functionality and could be sold to a vendor for some Galleons. It would not be tradeable.
It probably shouldn’t mention that you remember it or anything like that since it would most likely mess up the lore
…Unless you are connected to someone from the seven seas somehow, but, until it gets confirmed, your character should probably just be confused and keep it because it’s valuable or something
I like this.
But it’d be weird for the player to have a sense of nostalgia, or something similar, when they discover the coin. Especially since some players may have never played AA.
