I was playing another game when I realized they had a little feature where you can edit the textures. This allowed the community to create very interesting items, such as making a blueprint bag item into a Cartographer’s Maps Bag or making items more interesting by updating their basic textures. In fact, there was a whole entire discord server on doing that one thing, retexturing
How it will look like
On the vanity tab, there would be a button right below the “Title” Slot. When you click on it, it will send you to a menu where it lists all your VANITY items you have equipped, and the texture ID for them
You can also save that Texture on that item, so you can trade high quality textured items. This would display:
The texture ID
Texture Image
Reason to add/change
Pros
Adds another element to vanity
Easy to implement (To my knowledge)
Can create a whole sub-community
Makes artists jobs actually useful
More customization
Cons
Possible meme textures
Possible that people will exploit it to display unfavourable things
This wouldn’t be a problem if Roblox was actually good on moderation
Its just a retexture, in no way you can make a texture invisible
If you do, it will just show up as white
Edit:
If you try to make the texture invisible, it will still show the model. The model is just white without any textures, so there is no way a texture can make a model invisible. Both are seprate things
man this sounds like such a cool idea but it’ll never get implemented because of meme textures and textures that look out of place, maybe they could be manually verified but that seems unrealistic
