A Start of Destruction

Every action has consequences. Bloodshed will just lead to more bloodshed.

Somewhere in the Dark Sea the cloud cover split and the sun shone down onto a singular island with a small cabin on the beach. The coconuts and fish that lived nearby were enough to feed the only resident. It was on one fateful day he was strolling around, it had been years since his last visitor.

The early morning sun was a welcome relief. He held a sunken trident in one hand and a net in the other. He dived into the shallow waters surrounding his home, the water here was crystal clear and the fish content to do fish things. It wasn’t long before he caught a few for his dinner.

As he was surfacing earth shook and the water seemed to recede. A great cataclysmic explosion had rocked the planet to its core. He looked in the direction and saw blazing orbs scatter across the sky. Many curses heading towards some random place. The man sighed and swam to shore. The ground still vibrated. And the air felt wrong.

The man entered his bamboo shack and reached into his trunk pulling out a large leather-bound journal. He flipped to the first page and read, “As the sky alights with blazing power the entity will arise once again after endless slumbering.” He stopped, the rest of the book was not for him to read. History would take its course. He put the book away as a distant rumbling shook the island. He stepped outside and watched a Tsunami 200 feet high approach the island. He sighed, the coral reef was completely exposed and the fish were gasping for air.

“Well, to all those who have reached this fabled island and have received its curse, I wish you the best of luck.” Durza may have been evil but because of him an even worse evil couldn’t break free. Now that he was dead history had begun moving, at the end the world would not be the same as when it started.

The great wave crashed down upon the island, shattering trees and breaking rocks. The man was pummeled into the sand becoming no more than buried bones. The Island sank and the Dark Sea took it.
