On my list of plans I wrote I wanted to start developing more interesting scenes in what I draw and get my hand going with more backgrounds for story telling. After seeing Mei bliss so cheerfully welcoming me aboard I guess it lingered in my mind and I came to draw something inspired. I managed to finish this quick 4 hour drawing of lilly sitting on the edge of her ship. I drew this on a 15 hour flight so I was kinda tired half way, But I like my attempt at capturing the sunlight and the water BG actually. The ship is also not drawn It is basically a 3D model from the CSP asset store that assisted me since I can’t draw things that big and detailed without burning my hands away. But I did color it since It didn’t have color. So overall just a nice drawing practice I wanted to share :]

In comes Rico Grey seeing the smallest crack in the ship’s hull rushing to go and fix it cause he’s like that. (Villain btw. He just can’t stand broken ships, even if the damage is barely noticeable.)

Yeahh , The ship itself is a 3d model, Cause I can’t draw symmetrical things too well atm, So I just kinda rendered and added the character to it, glad you like it!

Ya think so? I’m heading in the direction of making a comic, So I am trying to simplify my work progress so I don’t melt from burn-out, Here It’s more of a single painting, but y’know, same apply. Since the process of drawing a boat from scratch , Proportionally is a bit difficult
I can imagine it’s difficult. I’m no drawing artist but from what I know it’s a lengthy process to make sure that everything in within your vision. Sometimes we bash ourselves about it too much.
Yep true, but thats why 3D is such a god tool! When you learn to mix and match the benefits of 3d and the look of 2d It’s like amazing, Even old 2d movied have moments of CGI! So useful! Treasure planet has a lot lf CGI ships I remember
