About arcane odyssey's base magics as a whole

I always felt as though the 20 base magics we have are a lot, especially for new comers making a character and seeing that many on the screen at once and then having to scroll finding out theres more.

I believe we shouldve stuck with the seven.(homelander jumpscare)

and that the rest of the 13 magics wouldve been lost magics or obtainable mutations(RIP retcon), for reasons of said overwhelming amount on creation.

It also seemed unfair for me, 20 magics but theres only 6 fighting styles. :(( I know where getting more soon but probably never going up to 20.

while we do have that many magics because of the synergies with the new class system vetex has, only 4 of the 11 classes actually use magic!

now while thinking this I was wondering too, “what if the base magics were lessened, mutations and lost magic scrolls and spirit energy change?”

So like, basically turning AO into AA again?

we had a good thing going with AA and vetex just had to make world of magic have 20+ magics!

The game broke

i much prefer being able to get an ancient a lost and ice magic instead of an ancient a lost and water magic
having this many magics is one of my favourite parts of the game, i don’t want to know that everyone is always going to have at least one of the same seven magics, that’s boring

I mean the base magics, we had smth good with the classic 7 but then on WoM it had 20

as an acid mage I don’t approve of this

We’d go from 20% of people using lightning to 80% of people!

I’d be fine with this idea if we got multiple tiers of mutation, and at least 1 mutation upon release.

Im gonna use explosion anyway, besides earth and lightning suck as a own magics

yea fr I like the unpredictability

it feels like you really can be unique and stand out a bit more

yea, i don’t see why people are opposed to having more variety and customisability, it just gives you more options

if we only had the original seven and you chose water magic for instance, you would basically just be expected to get lightning next for the synergy, but now you can ice, snow, lightning, or one of the many magics that apply bleeding instead, and that’s just if you’re focused on synergies

not to mention there’s a ton more customization that isn’t available in AA, since mutations were set paths locked behind one of the 7 base magics.

now if you want you can become something chaotic and probably badass like magma/gravity/sacrifice or water/aether-lightning/slash, the combinations are endless

yea, it just gives everyone more individuality

Honestly I think I might get back into mage more since I realized having full magic allows me to literally explore every single magic’s capabilities in the game

welcome to my quest, though i’ve limited it to my favourites and least favourites

you guys are missing the point, we’d have “lost magics” scrolls available on release with the 14 magics turned to scrolls you could find, replacing your 1 magic or as am age, the 2 magic slots you have. magic mains could also mutate the base upon awakening!

it would give people the false gambler mindset to keep looking for treasures!

mutations are still a thing. just in the war sea’s there are some mutations that are more common (the new 20 base). the rarer mutations are still rarer mutations in lore but in game u gotta use scroll
