If you haven’t read the patch notes. Here they are:
Don’t misunderstand this post, I actually support the idea of making it so players don’t have to read other players nonsense in PvP.
But isn’t this filter just going to fall short?
Won’t players just keep figuring out words or creating them for the purpose of trash talk that the filter won’t pickup and tag out? Even if the filter could be updated, it would have to be done so by hand right?
There’s also the fact that we can trade people items like clown noses and rat sails.
And sometimes i do enjoy trash talking people I’m on good terms with in Elysium. Sometimes saying “ez”, “aimbot”, “nice hbe” and they’ll do the same. We do this not out of genuine desire to make the other person angry but just to pull each others leg a little bit. If they’re not into it, i don’t say it.
Assuming what i said is right regarding the chat filter and the ability to work around it by trading an item with toxic connotation; why not just add a player block option?
By clicking on the players name, a block option will appear. Once you hit the button, a prompt will come up saying:
“Blocking the player will prevent them from sending you any trades, messages or clan join requests. You won’t be able to read what they type in chat and you also will be unable to perceive any emotes they use. Are you sure you would like to block this player?”
Hitting yes does all as forementioned. If you want to reverse the effects, you simply click on their name and hit the unblock option with a small prompt on the bottom right saying “You have unblocked (playername)”.
What do you guys think? Am i right? Am i wrong? Or am i completely missing something that makes the block option idea terrible? What are your opinions?
