can someone tell me if its worth farming abyss spots?
so apparently the chests are supposed to be better in abyss spots with an increased chances for sunkens
its somewhat difficult, it requires a diving build
the sharks arent that bad, you can simply lure them and spam siren bow
its totally pitch black (which makes sense ig) but its not that fun. revealing potions are essentially required and they are still buggy and jank as hell
but by far the worst part about it is the fact that there are a zillion nimbus sealed chests and less treasure chests, and reveal potions dont differentiate from them.
i think we can agree people are only doing this for the sunkens and other rare chest drops, so why the copious amounts of nimbus chests? if i wanted to farm nimbus chests id just go do normal diving spots, or am i wrong? i think itd be much better if every nimbus sealed chest in abyss spots were replaced with normal chests instead
It isn’t as hard if you know where the chests are.
My recommendations are:
Spire village (chests are in houses and tunnel going through center spire)
Volcanic shipwreck (chests are all in, on and around the shipwreck)
Greek town (chests are on the road or in temples, could be a bit tough if you don’t know though)
Ravine shipwreck (chests are in and around the shipwreck, save for a few on the nearby cliff and in a cliffside cave, the cave may be tough to find)
Fossil shipwreck (chests are in, on and around shipwreck)
Absolutely never loot:
Sandy fossil
Lush volcano
I have around 500% diving exploration in total by now, take my advice. Also, tougher ones may be spire shipwreck, mining town ruins and coral reef shipwreck.
the markers of sealed chests is slightly bigger than the one of treasure chests, which isn’t hard to differentiate when up-close.
also, if you want to gather the sealed chests of abyssal structures, have a friend wait at the surface to collect them (dropping chests underwater leads them to the surface, even under a ceiling).
overall, you don’t truly need a diving set as 90% air capacity is enough to go through an abyssal structure and complete it without going past half of your oxygen bar, I must suggest sharkrepel potions in order to avoid sharks as well.
ironically enough, the only danger that you will be facing are jellyfishes.
is it worth it for getting rare items and sunkens?
do you farm sea charts to find abyss spots or do you find them manually?
@yrni0
i dont really care at all about the nimbus chests since i solely want sunkens or perhaps legendary scales from the chests i open
i dont use shark repel since i use luck III + revealing, and the sharks arent that threatening
i use a build with high swimspeed and enough oxygen to just go down there and then reset
but again, all this effort for just a few chests doesnt seem that worth it
honestly, their only value lies in the abyssal modifier. It otherwise is not worth bothering with, unless the rates for sunkens are extremely high (but then, it begs the question if it’s faster than fishing)
Revealing potions differentiate Sealed chests and Normal chests, you just need to pay attention to the size of the circles. It takes time, and there’s a lot of Nimbus chests, but it’s still money. I get people only do abyssal diving for Sunkens and Abyssal, in that case, just ignore the Nimbus Sealeds and rush straight for the normal ones. It’s just about as painful as grinding normal underwater structures.
am i misremembering but didnt vetex say all of the chests down there would be silver and golden too? pretty sure like half of them are brown chests
@Caffi
i can kind of see the difference but honestly the difference is miniscule. i already always rush the normal chests even for normal diving spots, nimbus chests are useless
The no stamina glitch (only works while resurfacing; press space to go up, press ctrl to ‘toggle’ running and press ctrl again to toggle ‘walking’, for some reason this does not consume stamina UNLESS you take your hand off of the space button and press it again) + water breathing 3 + revealing 3:
