That would be good ONLY if they sold common and/or island specific ingredients, like clams, pinecones, bones etc., and on shell island glass pearls, for example. Rare ingredients are made to be rare, so you gotta look for them.
A lot of ingredients are supposed to be rare and being able to get them from a shop is waaay too much. If it were just common tier 1 catalysts and reagents then maybe.
That actually works as for finding the rare items it could be like finding a wandering merchant ship with an arcsphere so they’d basically sell it very rarely
some of the grind, but then people will just travel to different items to buy the brewing stuff from other brewing shop NPC’s or in a worse case, server hop
Finally somone talks abt this. As someone with only enough time to play for like 10-20 mins in one sitting I don’t have enough time to forage for potion ingredients so potions are like a feature I never use.
Tho rarer potion ingredients shouldn’t even be sold in shops tbh, regardless of the price. Just bc that wouldn’t make them worthwhile to look for.
Also some islands should have different potion ingredients, like I’ve heard of some sort of potion reagent found on sky islands so that can be sold only at Cirus Island (if it’s a rare find then it shouldn’t even be sold).
I agree with this bc the cauldron on most islands is literally found in front of the alchemist npc.
heres my 2 cents just make them only sell askew roots
nah i think that it should be that they can sell upto uncommon ingredients, and add a merchant ship that can sell the rarer ingredients
afterall, we can find a arcsphere if we get lucky in a merchant ship, so why not a random promethius acrimony if you really go out of your way to check every merchant ship
