The Sirens are likely based on the creatures of the same name in Greek mythology. They appeared in the Odyssey, and were rumored to tempt sailors with their songs, putting them under an effect where they would try and swim out, resulting in the sailor dying on the rocks as they drown.

Likely, the sirens in AO will be enemies that lure unaware players to them, then attack. Probably will have unique drops too.

This is pretty similar to a Brazil urban legend we have here, where a mermaid tempts sailors with her song, and they go after her. In the end she just drowns them because sheā€™s uh super evil or something like that. Iā€™m glad Vetex is still adding things based on Greek mythology.

I can honestly agree with that statement, but I can also understand people associating the word ā€œatlanteanā€ with the ones from DC (AKA Aquamanā€™s humanoid race).
