A birthday present for him. and I’m glad he liked it
My process on the render
This is how the render looked like without any post-processing
Before I do anything, I need to fix that white leftover from the texture on his arms.
Background effects are mostly just a stock flare image combined with fog added with a red and orange gradient image put in overlay layer mode to create the effect.
Added background without any lighting.
The lighting on Agnis is done manually by drawing around him using a color that suits the lighting and makes the layer in soft light or negate blending mode for the shadow.
here’s how it looks without blending mode.
I also added a soft proof and used the “wscRGB” for the higher contrast look.
then adjust the brightness and HSL a bit to help with lighting
I then added a closer flare by using the same flare stock, but this time I erased some part that obstructed him. I made the flare plasma to visualize what I mean.
I also added some black with average blend mode on his cape, just to darken the parts that are not hit by light.
For the final touch, I added a gradient background, but this time I used the radial gradient, just to make the fire “pop” from others.
That’s all behind the scenes folks!
I hope you enjoyed reading the details as well as looking at the image.
