“Looking quite nice kid!” Lelantos spoke, chuckling to himself as he saw Ares a few meters away. The giant man seemed to be wearing clothes that resembled karate sparring clothes. However, it was adorned in a green color with golden stripes along the sleeves and pants, despite the man’s giant height and size, standing at over 8’6 feet tall. The clothes fit quite nicely, maybe even a bit too comfy.
“Well, that’s a compliment to your work,” Ares responded, looking over his clothes. The old man did make them himself after all. It felt nice having clothes that were made for his size. “But are you sure you wanna do a spar? Aren’t you a little… uhm old?” He inquired, feeling bad that he was gonna spar with someone who was just a friendly old man now.
“Oh, don’t you worry about me! I might be a bit rusty, but I can still hold my own!” The scarred man chuckled, both of his eyes remaining closed the entire time.
“Well alright, don’t blame me if you get hurt!” Ares said with a smirk, quickly putting his hands up as he sprung forward. The ground beneath him shattered as he disappeared from his eyesight, only appearing in front of Leli with a high kick to the head. The iron coating around his foot already formed to make the strike even more devastating. It cleaved through the air as it approached its target, just getting oh-so-close to finally reaching its mark-
BAM
What just happened? I was just about to land my kick… Why am I seeing the sky right now? Wait… am I on the ground? What the hell did he hit me with?! Does he have iron coating too or something?!
“SHIT!” Ares sprung up, looking around him as he saw the scarred man chuckling at himself. It was quite the predicament… but just how in the hell did he get himself hit? That does matter right now, I gotta get up and continue this stupid sparr! I’ll show him…
Ares quickly stood up again, lightly touching the light bruise on his left cheek. Not too much damage, it can be healed. Starring down Lelantos, he quickly sprung forward again, this time aiming to throw a low kick at the ankle. With a hook turning into a feint, Ares quickly switched to the low kick. He had to hit it this time-
Yet it was knocked away, and with a simple lift of the leg, Lelantos neutralized the attack. That leg pushed forward, landing on the ground again before Lelantos moved in. Slamming into Ares with a heavy shoulderbash which knocked the wind out of him. Yet it was not over, suddenly the young man felt a grip on the back of his head. Only to see a smash aiming straight for him.
Ares was launched backward and straight into the ground. His nose shattered and bleeding heavily. He felt a bit dizzy, but nothing that Life magic can’t fix! With a simple wisk of his hand, his nose was completely healed alongside the light bruise on his cheek.
He countered the low kick so easily… and those movements. Those aren’t the moves of a guy who’s a few centuries old! I gotta get my shit together if I want to land any solid hits…
“What? Already tired? What about all of that talking you were doing earlier?” The scarred man spoke, trying to rile up Ares. Which, was somewhat successful as the young man quickly got up.
“Oh, I’m just getting warmed up old man!” Ares smirked, quickly getting into his fighting position again. Ready to charge in once more, which he did. With another aggressive dash, Ares was already closing in again.
But what he saw was even more confusing. Lelantos also dashed in, but… he was way too low to the ground. With that kind of distance, the man would surely just trip and fall face-first into the ground. But he didn’t, he went even lower.
Just what the hell-
The young man quickly put up a block as an uppercut smashed upwards. Launching him slightly into the air, before a light hook smashed against his guard again. Making Ares tilt sideways as a right hook smashed into the guard. He was getting bombarded with rattled bones, each one cracking the iron coating on his arms.
FUCK! What the hell are his fists made of?! They are smashing my guard apart like nothing! Okay, Ares calm down. You can do this… just look for an opening… THERE!
Ares quickly threw a solid straight as Lelantos prepared another devastating strike. The straight hitting him square on the face before bouncing off. Hitting this scarred man felt like hitting a mountain itself. This was not good-
Lelantos threw a upward strike straight into Ares ribs, a crack being heard amongst them.
But the young man didn’t falter, gritting his teeth as he launched a downward strike. Hitting Leli square in the cheek, stunning him for a bit.
Fuck… one of my ribs is cracked… but I at least got some distance from him. I need to heal them quickly.
“Solid punch, guess you’re not all talk, are you? But you did land a passable hit, seems like I’ll get a bit more… Serious” Lelantos commented, his left eye-opening. It shows its dim grey color. The pupil suddenly lit up with a blue brightness. Lightning sparks began to form around the scarred man, his scars being dimly lit by the same color.
Ah shit, this is gonna hurt…
“Well come at me, old man!” Ares yelled out, a smirk appearing on his face once more. As the second round of the spar ensued.
A few hours later
The area around them was destroyed. Ares lay on the ground, breathing heavily. All bruised up as Lelantos stood over him. The scarred man was covered in a few light bruises here and there. Seems like Ares managed to get a few good hits in too.
“Nice work kiddo, rest yourself out here for a bit. Then I’ll cook you up something to eat alright?” Lelantos smiled warmly, both of his eyes closed again.
What a fucking monster… but damn I’m hungry as hell…
“I get it…” Ares spoke, slowly closing his eyes as he led himself into a nap. Suspecting more of these hellish days from now on…
