Imagine, a threat that could rival the government’s all mighty reign and supremacy, able to plunge society into anarchy as we know it. Some may call it true freedom, but they will never fathom what happens during anarchy. With that said, some of the outcasts and standouts from society would answer this question with no hesitation whatsoever, their motives hidden behind the justice they will eventually uplift.
“Of course! I’ll save the world!”
A generic answer expected from a town’s lone hero. Their sense of justice will keep the town from destruction and bring forth order against this threat, no matter how powerful the opponent is. That being said, they’re the most likely to recruit friends and invite allies for this epic showdown that will determine the outcome of the world.
“I guess… I would save the world.”
Nervousness and a hint of uneasiness. They aren’t confident with their abilities, and they’d probably sit this whole incident out if they weren’t suddenly dragged into this situation. They don’t see this end-of-the-world thing as a threat, hell it might be a paradise for these introverts since the extroverts are out there doing their best against it. Hell, some of them didn’t even know this incident happened to begin with.
“I’ll protect everyone, everyone I love and cherish on this planet, I will protect all of them.”
True heroism. They will bring forth judgement at any cost, even if it means sacrificing their life. Perhaps it’s a vow they made or an incident in the past that influenced them, either way their sense of justice is most definitely real. Though, it’s not wrong to suspect vengeance is the only thing driving their motives either.
“I suppose I’ll help.”
You wouldn’t expect someone to say this would you? On the surface, they seem to not care about the beginning of tyranny. However, these people are the most unpredictable ones out of all the others. Some are gullible, only causing more trouble if they commit to the cause. Some have facades, they might even be supporting the so called threat too. Some carry concerns, working behind the scenes to ensure the safety of whoever is involved. Some wield strength comparable to the gods, wanting to witness the beginning of anarchy despite being able to remove the problem with a swipe of a finger.
A man with an arcsphere for a head closes his scroll, sliding it into a container attached to his belt. The sound of footsteps above him alert him of their arrival to their destination. He made sure to tighten the container’s cap to ensure it doesn’t slip off onto the ground. He extinguished the candle’s flame before leaving the captain’s quarters.
“THERE YOU ARE! We’re here.” A bearded man waved his arm at him.
On the right of the ship, a band of pirates, a girl with a top hat and a blue cloak standing in front of them. On the left of the ship, a man holding glowing flintlocks in his hands is covering a girl on her front, the openings in her fists leaked black ooze. On the bird’s nest, a girl with snakes for legs is holding a telescope. On the helm, there’s a man with an astounding beard beside a boy steering the ship’s wheel.
“WE CHAAAAAAAAAAAARGE!” The boy on the steering wheel shouted in triumph.
The girl on the crow’s nest leaps out, being caught by the boy on the steering wheel as he started flying with his magic, his other hand carrying the old man. The man with flintlocks disappeared in a flash, same with the girl he seemed like he was protecting. That girl leading a small group of pirates have already left the ship. The man with an arcsphere as a head let out a sigh. A magic circle the size of a barrel appears in front of him.
“In the end, decisions lead to outcomes, and its not like we have the power to rewrite this story all over again.”
He winds up his right hand, sliding his right foot across the planks of wood. He makes a spin before punching into the magic circle, creating crazy crystal ruptures that travel through the air like cracks on the ground. He pulls out a crystal trident from the magic circle, made out of different types of crystals instead of plain old emerald. I’m sure they won’t mind if I came late… he thought.
