i barely talk in the first place, i pretty much just read other conversations and occasionally helping ppl do stuff when they request it/give info (if they don’t fucking spam it)

Roblox already has my damn name (I was stupid in making my account), I’m sure as hell not giving them my face. If the stock image thing doesn’t work, I guess I’like be mute forever and communicate exclusively via interpretive dance.
Yet another useless feature that will do nothing to actually prevent predators that they only went with since it makes the shareholders happy

Actually, something just occurred to me: they know that this is going to fail. Roblox Corporation is incredibly, mind-numbingly stupid, that I grant you. But they’re not this stupid. Not enough to think that much of the playerbase will go along with this. They know that they’re going to have to repeal it within a month or two.
This change isn’t popular. I doubt even parents of Roblox kids even would like the idea of having their kid take pictures of themselves to send. It may satisfy their shareholders, but I don’t think it’ll give them breathing room in terms of public pressure.
So then… why the hell do they want so many peoples’ faces? Especially those of children…?

Persona Identities (the company being used for age verification) has a lawsuit from 2024 for not erasing the biometric data that they collected for age/identity verification by the way.
It’s a corporation employed globally by many others too, growing even more prominent than before due to certain European laws.
it’s probably a money farming scheme that politicians and friends make billions off worldwide. They’ve become increasingly more common over the past decade in North America and the European Union (NATO members, really)

At least if you get in the adult group by faking it, then you don’t share your face and you get in the same group that anyone else would logically shoot for.
I’m not risking it though. Not dealing away my 2016 account in case they moderate people for faking it like they did with ID verification.
I for one am not giving my face to Roblox, I’ll just pass until the inevitable happens. However, I wonder how people that can’t use the chat will employ the captain chat commands, or is there an alternative I’m forgetting.
