As I had obviously noticed, potion brewing buffs the user or gives them a certain utility depending on the catalys. These can, I’m still uncertain if this method is viable though in my alt account it was op, be used during a PvP.
For example, offensive potions such as thunder crystals, if brewed correctly, produces lightning bolts, which deals massive damage and paralyzes the target. Another one is harming potions, which can be brewed as gel or burst potion to consecutively deal, low but if stacked, high amount of damage. Some potions can also cause corroding, melting, and even creates magma puddles.
On the other hand, potions can also be used as pure utility, like flying or creating whirpools, or smoke potions, iron skin, invisibility, clearsight, revealing, blinding, and love potions, so on and so forth. These kind of things are major buffs and if used correctly/skillfuly can cause massive impact during pvp. Imagine jumping high on to the sky, or instant teleportations, and creating whirpools. Or sometimes, even prevents enemies due to confusion or love potions. There are still many ways to utilize potions in pvp as “support” to the main pvp usage, however there are too many to cite.
Also I forgot to mention you can freeze or create ice flatforms on the sea during sea battles. You can also use healing, poisoned, and knockback. And revealing potions are like wallhacks T _ T.
What I found most op though is the status effect and damage it can inflict: thunderbolts alone causes over a few hundreds of damage, petrify is an op stun like frozen which can all be inflicted using potions, magma puddles, burning, corroding, bleeding, harming, etcc…
Fun fact, you can use insanity potions to cause havoc upon your enemy, although it is impossible to copy the damage from insanity 4/5.
The drawback is that u need to have fast mental thinking, logical thinking and fast hand to properly use the alchemist “class” potential. Also, finding other catalyst are hard such as high tier potions like dark sea diamond and tears of gaia, although thunder crystals are easy to find, which is I think your main source of damage. Finding such catalyst and reagents take tons of time and efforts. Also it is a bit hassle seaeching the inventory whike fighting, although you can freeze the enemy for a while.(There are still other potion effects I did not mention but are very useful and indispensible.)
What is your thought about this??? Or am I missing something.
