I honestly go there to turn in my quest.
I was reading this thread when I reach Monos. I was like “Well isn’t it funny if I got Alligator Gar first try?”

I am so scared of this quest I haven’t touched it since FR released…
It was the last quest I took, even after talent quests, just to get Nimbus sea explorer and conqueror
Wow… I’m not big into the fishing, so I prolly ain’t gonna completions nimbus anytime soon
I’ve finished all talent quests besides from darkness due it not being completed, gotten a legendary chest, gotten nimbus sea diver and fully explored nimbus, beaten all bosses, found an omen (for like 2 seconds before I died) gotten a million galleons and I still haven’t caught this fat fucking fish
This quest is so difficult, I got Ocean’s Archivist before I could complete this quest.

how you have gone a whole month without catching an alligator gar leads me to believe whatever god of fishing exists is actively against your entire existence

Update: I am using the best gear in the game to catch this thing and I still can’t get shit, I’ve gotten a great white shark I’m pretty sure every other single rare freshwater fish in the same conditions for the alligator gar and still haven’t gotten it. I’m using an ensaring bronze rod with swarm bait, luminous lure and a luck 3 cauldron during night at monos pond and I’ve gotten literally a few sunken elements and some other shit before I’ve gotten this. If Vetex ever, and I mean EVER, adds another fishing quest revolving around catching one specific singular fish in any other future seas that are required to get 100% in exploration I will be going on strike outside of Vetex’s home
This is like the Anglerfish quest in Sailor’s Lodge all over again, but somehow even worse
next quest: “Catch a megaladon”
