I HAVE GOTTEN A MILLION GALLEONS BEFORE I GOT THIS FUCKING FISH, I LITERALLY BOUGHT THE REINFORCED FISHING ROD TIER 2 ENCHANT JUST TO HAVE A BETTER CHANCE OF GETTING THIS FISH, I GOT BREWING TO MAX, I GOT FISHING TO 8, I GOT COOKING TO MAX, CHARTING TO MAX, REACHED 600 HOURS, I WENT THROUGH JOY, PAIN AND LIFE TO GET THIS THING, BUT NOPE, AFTER HOURS AND HOURS, NOT A SINGLE FISH IN SIGHT. SO VETEXGAMES, MOOCHEZZ, TECHLEVEL, PARTCLINE, AND ALL OTHER BIG MEN, COME DOWN TO THE BACKALLEY AT MY LOCAL TESCO AND IT’S GONNA GO DOWN, THAT’S RIGHT, FISH ON FISH BATTLE: MY COLOSSAL SQUID VS YOUR ALLIGATOR GAR, WINNER GETS THE STUPID ALLIGATOR. In all seriousness I have had this quest since full release dropped and I still can’t get it, I’ve gotten lost spell scrolls and found a legendary chest before I got this thing. And yes: I’m fishing at night in the monos pond, I have done absolutely every pre-requisite, I have the quest, I’ve DONE EVERYTHING, HOURS AND HOURS LISTENING TO YOUTUBE IN THE BACK WHILE DOING THIS all I’m asking, is one, simple, thing: 1: You remove all fishing quests from the game, 2: yeah that’s basically it. My reasoning is this: you can explore every crevice of the sea, both land and water while doing every single task, and the thing that you end up having to do last and even longer than diving is going to a pond and spending hours listening to shit in the background. Literally as of writing this I thought I caught an alligator gar, WRONG, WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG NEIN NEIN NEIN NEIN NEIN! IT WAS A FUCKING GIANT CHAIN PICKERIL. YOU TEMPT ME WITH FALSE HOPES AND RIP THEM FROM ME. Another fun fact, the second I finished that word I got another rare fish, I am not joking, I have caught every other rare fish in this pond besides an alligator gar and in all seriousness, removing fishing quests from arcane odyssey, they serve no purpose other than wasting time, and to end here’s a things that will happen before I catch an alligator gar: 1. 100% agree with you the fishing quests are really dumb, mostly ‘cause fishing itself is really boring, if it had a sort of interactive minigame or something then it’d be a bit more tolerable. Maybe, maybe not, I don’t know but anything would be better than just click, wait for a bit, spam click, rinse and repeat
if it had an interactive minigame it would just take even more time, I don’t mind the actual mechanic of fishing because it reflects what it would be like and I think it should be something relaxing you do every now and then that doesn’t require too much, something that’s relaxing in an environment of constant sailing, adventure, fighting and story is nice, spending a month and a half to get a big ass fish in a pond that should stick out like a highlighter in the appalachian mountains is another thing altogether

I think it’s better to use ensnaring rather than toughened as the latter only increases the odds of catching bigger fish and decreases the amount of clicks needed
