Am I the only one that thinks AO lacks build variety?

that’s because they have the same build

can you read or nah

he isn’t talking about build, he’s talking about playstyle.

Two iron leg users, both using crystal warlock fight each other. One is dumb, one is smart.

The smart one unlike the dumb one wont spam crash and smash and blindly run at the enemy. The smart one would use placed explosions and blasts and use a rushdown if they get close.

You can’t say “nobody would actually do that” because you don’t know how everyone plays. “almost” isn’t EVERYONE. Let’s go back to build variety, not playstyles.

you have a history of running topics into the ground with your lack of actual basic reading comprehension, you didn’t counter my argument you just said I should go play deepwoken

“can you read or nah”

i specifed crystal iron leg warlock

and I said not all crystal iron leg warlocks can be the same.

what are you talking about, like actually

likely

Actually most of them just use crash, smash, and shot. You just brought up what a good crystal iron leg would probably do.

i think they’re saying the fighting styles you choose are the equivalent of the different types of weapons you can use as a firecharm user, and comparing a general build like that to a specific warlock build is irrational

as i said before, BUILD VARIETY
the game would be more fun if every crystal warlock could have a different loadout.
but again, lost spells and techniques will probably fix this. Argument over.

I suppose it is a little bit

argument not over, wtf are you saying?

Your idea of build variety would probably be something like different variations of the same basic thing.

i literally answered my own question, it only feels like this rn because the game is in early access and builds aren’t fleshed out

i agree that variety for weapons and fighting styles is pretty lacking right now, but thats obviously going ti be changed once we get more lost techniques and when weapons get their full movesets, cannon fist is pretty unique and fun to use though

magic feels pretty different, and most magics fall under 3 archetypes (fast magic where you can more easily articulate your shots, medium speed/size magics that mix both playstyles, and slow magics whose users typically focus on punishing you more than being super aggressive), and synergies cause for a bit more variety in mages

i know youve already pointed it out but as lost spells/techniques/weapons are added we wont have this problem nearly as much, and in the nimbus sea i expect us to get more 2 and 3 stat armors and hopefully less of a meta around power and size (which vetex is seemingly working towards with things like making crash scale off agility, even though it did just further push calvus armor)

idk man I just wanna use my dagger/musket/staff basic warlord :fr:

may or may not occasionally replace staff with the lion’s halberd… :eyes:
