A boy, perhaps the age of ten, waddled to the docks where a Brig was docked. A man – with an appearance of a fisherman; yet with a toothpick in his mouth, strode to where the boy was, and harshly commanded the boy to get onto the Brig. “Yeh get on the ship, now, lad! Or I’ll feed yee to the sharks!”
The boy, scared of this man’s powerful word of mouth, hastily scrambled onto the ship’s plank onto the Brig, and toppled over to due the waves. The man murmured, “Leap of Venom!”, and leapt sky high with red, noxious clouds followed in the air, and when he landed on the ground, they dissipated. The boy had already clambered onto his feet, and into the Captain’s Quarters when the sails unfolded, and off they sailed to No Man’s Land.
The man, after yelling at his Co-Captain to take over in these harsh winds so he could check up on his now terrified, & excited son, who badgered him with questions.
“Father! Father!” The boy looked up at his Father in admiration.
“Yes, son?” The man did not look at his son directly; merely looking at something in a drawer in his desk.
“Please, Father, I would be delighted to know – where exactly are we going? This isn’t the Bronze Sea, or those funny Nimbus scrolls ya found me!” The boy looked at his Father, waiting for an anwser.
“Oh, son…” The man paused. “A place that hoards thousands upon millions of Galleons of us Pirates to feast upon!” The man smiled; though it could be mistaken for a slight frown.
“Oh, Father…!” The boy clasped his hands together, happy at the prospect of seeing those treasures, and hugged his Father, of which he hugged back awkwardly before heading up to gain control of the wheel from his Co-Captain.
The harsh winds of No Man’s Land proved to be tremendously difficult to steer through, as Joergen’s Compass did not want to cooperate. Eventually, peering into the purple abyss; the fog ahead of him, he saw something that looked remarkably like an island.
“EZKIEL! IF YEE WISH TO PURSUE YEE STUDIES, GET ABOVE DECK RIGHT NOW!” The boy hurried up the stairs, gripping onto the railing, and gazed onto the massive island in wonder.
