I personally would like to see them add a fist/gauntlet type weapon so I can punch people without magic

because those are types of weapons, I don’t see how you can get confused here.
if you mean like those are the types of weapons i wanna see then no, I’d just like to see gauntlets/fist type weapons added.

In which he wasn’t naming weapon types, but I also think you misunderstood it?
Because he was just saying that fist/gauntlet type weapons are things that could be seen as very similar to fighting styles, like the fighting style boxing in AA gave you gloves…So would there be a need for punching weapons?

Yes he is, but so far we only know that they are based on your culture. So if you are vistarian you’ll get a spear. This information can be found in the item wiki. https://forum.worldofmagic.dev/t/game-items-wiki/416

But then how will fishing work if we are only able to use our culture specific weapons, I just feel like it is a bit odd. Especially when you’re fishing trying to get magic weapons yet can only get a magic spear or dagger or whatever your culture’s weapons are. Just seems kinda weird to me…

You aren’t limited to just your culture items, you can use items that aren’t from a culture too; You aren’t restricted to a certain weapon type either.

Yes, there are the non-culture specific items but if you look at what is planned the cultures that are in the game rn have their own specific magic weapons listed.

You can use items from your culture and items not specifically bound to a culture only, other culture items cannot be used.
