Okay, so, as almost everyone here knows, magic in the Arcane Odyssey universe was granted to humanity by Prometheus. Prometheus, in real life, was a Titian from Greek Mythology. This would mean that magic inherently came from the Greek culture.
The gods and monsters of Greek mythology are also real in the Arcane Odyssey universe, as evidenced by the Sirens in the Dark Sea. Furthermore, the name of the game itself, “Arcane Odyssey”, parallels the Greek epic “The Odyssey”.
All of this is just may was of saying—I’d love the introduction of more Greek-like cultures and references in the game. Pillars of marble, city-states, art; I believe it’d add a lot of flavor to the game.
Just uh, maybe don’t add like Athens gender roles and the boneheaded ideas of the philosophers.
newest boss is probably a pirate boss, they just see “thallassi” and think “OMG GREECE!??!?!?!1!” without realizing that it has a drop named Plunderers as well as the Thallassi which means it could be pirate themed, because the greek “thalassa” just means sea and we all know what “plunder” means
additionally some parts of the story are named things like “pirate hideout” and “the quartermasters”, i dont think a sea goddess would need a pirate hideout
besides im p sure most of the gods are dead and only descendants are left
o yea i forgot the entire war seas are based off of greece, mount caesar = mount helicon (real) and mount othrys = mount othrys (real)
poles got flipped around from durza tomfoolery so south = irl north
therefore mount olympus is further south, this matches real greek topography (real greece hours)
