Anyone got some "what-if" ideas for the Arcane Universe

I bet the Order of Aesir would be doing some funny stuff up there, and not actually tell you why.

He was able to take away magic from some humans before Prometheus stopped him, not exactly sure to what extent but I’m pretty sure being king of the gods gave him some authority over it. That or any god can take away magic on an individual basis, but maybe not on mass like a god with authority over magic. I think it’s the former though.

Well like Stock said no Theos religion, but I don’t think it ends there. If Theos is blamed for the fracture he could easily have a lot more enemies. This doesn’t necessarily means he dies earlier, but the way he operates or the different events he goes through because of it means that he might not be around when the PK is revived. After that things really change from the main timeline.

What if freedrock never got the lazarus curse

Right off the bat the PK would be in a much worse position against durza cause a decent chunk of the PK’s endgame power probably came from his guidance, with him being one of the strongest people on the planet and all

The real question is what else did he affect before that? We know from azarel that he “liberated people from evil and drove back monsters, dragons, and villains alike,” so a bunch of people would probably end up with worse lives. But I wonder if he ever played any big roles in historic events besides the war of the gods and the PK’s fight against durza

What if Prometheus pulled a durza

MC is Theos hundreds of years later being mentored by old curseless cursebeard

if you count the kingdoms besides the GN and assasins, we have 10
WE HAVE THE NAMES OF ALL 10 KINGDOMS

  1. What if the main character/the player never existed?(AO)
  2. What if the main character/the player(AO) existed in the Winterveil extermination era?
  3. What if the plot of AA included a time travel arc where the player has to assassinate a baby Durza?

A scenario where Winterveil was somehow able to defeat Ravenna would be really interesting.

I’d say maybe Akursius Keep never ends up being built, for a start. Either because Winterveil doesn’t wanna build a fort over the remains of their home, or it was just never destroyed in the first place. Winterveil would probably have to completely take over Ravenna for the war to end, so they’d end up becoming the dominant kingdom in the Bronze Sea.

In that case, the Thorne Empire would still try to fight them, since they fought Ravenna due to their almost complete control over the whole sea. Although, it is possible that they could come to a treat, we just don’t have enough information to be able to determine exactly how they would interact.

Now, the question is if they could fight them off. I presume the turning point in this battle of Winterveil and Ravenna would be that Kessler won the duel. Kessler probably wouldn’t be arrested for war crimes, so he would be able to participate in the battle. We are also so supposing that he took all of Ravenna’s territory without contention. Let’s also suppose they had the same curse resources. There’s no way to know for certain, but I would think that the highly experienced Kessler would be able to beat the Prince of Thorns. Then he would have to help whatever Allies were fighting of the Slash curse user.

Although, what’s now likely is that the Thorne Empire will take another plan entirely and not have their leader fight Kessler. Still, I think it would be much harder for the Empire to fight against Winterveil than Ravenna.

I actually think it is more likely that after Kessler defeats Nero, Ravenna just surrenders and gives some land. Maybe they just give Shell Island, or perhaps they are forced into unfavorable trade agreements. I think this is more likely, because it is much easier for a kingdom to do this than to take all the land, and it would be hard to incorporate the citizens. In this case, the Thorne Empire would have much less reason to attack, perhaps. In this case, Ravenna would likely try to retaliate at some point, but how would be impossible to determine.

What I think is most likely; however, is that Kessler will just let Ravenna stay as is. The reason he dueled was because he didn’t want to bring the people into the battle. It is very likely that he will just consider his nation protected, and he would let Ravenna off the hook with their leader dead. It is very possible that this could lead to more favorable relations in the future, but it would have to be after the death of their Leader is out of the public conscience. Once again Thorne lacks justification.

it would also mean the sameria keraxe war either never happens or happens much earlier, along with the mc not knowing about the order throughout the entire bronze sea, is gonna make a very boring plotline

I wrote this somewhere else,

But what if Argestes never flung that Tornado at his battle with the OSP?
This changes ALOT since Theos would never crash and find the PK (also keeps his crew)

Verdies still loses to Trigno, however he never tweaks out since he isnt flung in the sky, and thus he never joins the AG and remains a pirate

And without the PK being on his quest, someone either does or does not stop Durza’s final goal

The domestic abuse towards Neviro is probably worse. Aside from that it kinda depends on when they win and how badly they beat Ravenna. I think the most plausible way they could win is with Kessler beating Nero at Munera Garden then it means that Kessler would still be leading Winterveil in the modern day. I’m not sure how harsh he would be on Ravenna though. On the nicer end I’d say he lets them keep their capital island and maybe Cassia Town, on the tougher end I’d say he takes all their territory.

I think the more interesting thing is what happens with the Thorne invasion. In a scenario where Kessler lets Ravenna keep Cassia Town it becomes a question of if Thorne even invades cause there’s no kingdom with a monopoly this time and if they do would Winterveil do anything? Ravenna was their enemy less than a century ago, but Thorne might be an enemy that they realize they can’t afford to let get a foothold in the Bronze Sea.

In a scenario where Winterveil takes all of Ravenna’s territory I think unfortunately Thorne probably wins the battle at Cassia town and goes on to probably take over the whole sea. At best only sparing Redwake as to not get into a fight with Sameria as well. From what we know about Winterveil their only real notable heavy hitter was Kessler. Aside from that I guess they were supposedly known for their great mages so I do suppose that their mages would probably be on average better than Ravenna mages, but I don’t think that saves them in Cassia town. It took two Ravennan generals to barely beat Avery Walker, one of which had the wave curse and the other was even with said wave curse user even without a curse. The Prince of Thorns was supposedly even stronger and Octavious, who was probably the strongest of the Ravennan military since he was the one to go againt the Prince, lost to him so it’s not looking good. Both Avery Walker and the Prince of Thorns together make this a pretty difficult fight for Kessler.

I think best case scenario Avery Walker dies and Kessler is able to make a retreat. From there its kinda an uphill battle for Thorne as they try to make it up to Winterveil’s capital. It’s made difficult thanks to the number of great mages in Winterveil’s army(provided they don’t mostly die at Cassia town). After Kessler recovers from his injuries sustained at Cassia town this will probably be his best chance to beat the Prince of Thorns cause there will be no Avery Walker to help him out. Whether or not he could is not particularly clear we don’t really know how strong he was other than that he was stronger than all of Ravenna’s best at Cassia Town.

I think the most realistic case though is that both Kessler and Avery Walker die at Cassia Town and the Thorne still has to take a while to fight their way to Winterveil’s capital but this time it’s a guarantee that they win. Of course it even taking a while assumes that the Prince of Thorns doesn’t curb stomp all resistance in his path. Regardless by the end of this Thorne controls all of the Bronze Sea. Maybe afterwards a couple decades or so later using resources and troops they build up from the Bronze sea along with their own they can finally beat Ryujin.

The wild card here is the experimental curse that lands on Octavious’ corpse. I doubt the exact same thing but with Kessler instead of Octavious would happen since it’s already like insanely unlikely in the main timeline and with so much changed its even less likely here. I think either someone from either side absorbs it during the battle or Thorne wins the battle of Cassia Town before the curse shows up and gets it for themselves. That would probably make up for the loss of Avery Walker.

There are some other possibilities of what could happen in this scenario of Winterveil winning against Ravenna, especially if we entertain the possibility of Winterveil winning against Thorne, but I think I’ve already talked about this scenario more than enough.

I guess you mean if Ravenna got a complete victory since Thorne didn’t exactly win in the main timeline. In this case Ravenna remains pretty powerful while Thorne at best retreated with a portion of it’s army dead and at worst is now without one of their curse users as well as the Prince of Thorns. I don’t know how Ravenna would get both of them especially the Prince of Thorns, but that’s just if we take the scenario to the extreme. After that the Order isn’t really able to infiltrate Ravenna at least probably not to the same extent with Calvus as on of their High Lords, they might still have Argos though.

Peace treaty with Sameria and Keraxe is never formed since Calvus is never king to make it, at least not by Y1854. Iris’ dad might not be kidnapped, kinda depends on how badly Ravenna wants the death curse here and if they’re even aware of it being in the Bronze Sea. Not sure how they’d go about trying to capture Beringer if they can’t utilize Order forces here. Maybe they just put a lot of faith in them being able to pull it off without being outed as the ones who did it. At most things in the story can remain somewhat the same until Fort Talos with just the difference being Ravenna isn’t connected to the order here. I find it likely that it wouldn’t work out like that, but that’s the easiest scenario to keep track of as well as predict where it could go. After Fort Talos though the MC and co probably just gotta avoid Ravenna and figure out something else to do cause they cannot win there like they did in the main timeline.

Ravenna is next on the chopping block and Keraxe unites the Vemir, Nimbus, and Bronze seas under their rule. Maybe after Sameria loses Azura sees that they have to get involved and at that point maybe things can be turned around, but Ravenna ain’t doing much here so Azura is probably on their own and I don’t know if they could win even with Warren.

This one is probably going to happen. At that point it’s up to Nilah to decide whether or not we’re worth the risk of keeping around to help against Keraxe or if we can’t be trusted cause she doesn’t know if we’ll try our hand at killing her next. Or she might think we created the situation so we could profit off it as mercenaries.

Probably the same as the Winterveil winning scenario just with Nero running around somewhere out there doing who knows what.

This could happen through them either failing to complete their goals to become the GN or just never trying in the first place. The most notable things in this scenario is that a lot of powerful pirates are either still alive or free to keep pirating, and Nero isn’t captured by the GN. Ravenna definitely gets a total victory at Cassia Town now and probably goes on to try to conquer a lot more. If all the other Ravennan characters live and are still as strong as they were in the main timeline then Ravenna is sitting very pretty. Wouldn’t be surprised if they get the death curse too along with the mysterious experimental curse that landed on Octavious’ corpse in the main timeline. They likely become a rival empire for Keraxe. Unless Nero decides he wants to join the order, the order likely never gets control of Ravenna here. The main story could still happen the same way that I said it could in the Ravenna total win against Thorne scenario, but again that’s provided that Argos alone is the one sent to oversee the search for the death curse. Otherwise mc and gang are totally fucked.

Either the King and the cult quit the chaos summoning stuff altogether, or they succeed in summoning an even greater part of chaos and the entire sea or even the entire war seas gets ravaged by it.

I don’t have anything to say about the other scenarios, but these were fun to think and write about. Let me know if there’s anything you think would go differently or could be added on to these.

We have actually learned that Nero was arrested far before the Grand Navy was formed. We don’t know exactly by who, but it was probably the Astoria Kingdom, who would then be able to continue holding onto him.

I am aware, but if they don’t become the GN they probably either hadn’t tried or failed to do so in the first place. In the former they don’t capture Nero for obvious reasons. In the latter if they failed to complete their goals to become the GN they probably were unable to capture him the the first place.

What if ruby roger was secretly the king admiral, a red council member, a Corsair and the leader of the order of aesir also he’s now a cat boy.

Nothing would change. This is already true.

What if the Peacekeeper lost against DurzAcheron?

My guess would be that Chaos would obliterate him.

What if PK actually found cursebeard in alalea instead of him going to the 7th sea
