This game is cooked. And, honestly, it’s not even wholly Vetex’s fault. It is partially his fault, but not entirely. It’s mostly just Roblox- and this is a cold take, what am I doing?
Okay, actual hot take: Full Release was the last chance Vetex had to turn the game around and for it to still reach a decent-sized audience, and I think it was squandered as he failed to fix some of the biggest problems with Arcane Odyssey’s main gameplay.
yeah, i mean this is the kind of game ideal to be released on steam or smth (mmorpg with a bunch of assets) and trying to make a quality game for young adults and teens ig on a kid-targetted game platform might have not been the best idea

im not really 100% sure on how you can say that when ao just had its number 1 and longest existing problem fixed, things can only really get better
ice take but i think making extreme balance changes or mechanic additions every other update leads to a less cohesive update-to-update player experience, so please just ####ing LET IT BE! unless theres a horrible awful unfair advantage just stop buffing and nerfing willy nilly anything bteam fights

Correct, Vetex is at fault for saying nonsense as a response for the lack of optimizations, but Roblox is too at fault for not giving proper tools for profiling performance… not anymore since the 5th of this month:
Technically, Vetex is more at fault than Roblox, as the microprofiler is insanely great at observing performance issues, you just have to utilize it by adding your own debugging profiling and understanding what the different things do.
Full Release in video games is by definition; “A video game that provides a satisfying full experience by itself”, which means by going into full release, the game could be played completely full without having to wait for further additions to have a more full experience.
Except, that isn’t what happened, Full Release was an unsatisfying buggy mess with low performance alongside lack of features like Arcanium[1], Dragons… hell; just anything that has been added in the Dragon Update and any future content updates.
The game is still very much in a beta state, there’s so many bugs, the performance issues are luckily getting resolved despite needed to have been resolved in the Early Access, I just don’t see this NOT becoming a feature-bloated mess with no connection between said features.

AO should break away from Greek Mythology.
The AU is already decently inaccurate to it (then again, it’s also inaccurate to itself…) and it could very easily be replaced with an original pantheon of gods.
It’d take a bit of work (namely replacing the gods with original ones), but it’d be better than having it fuck up at almost every turn.
warm take probably cause i have the same thought when thinking about ao’s worldbuilding and how the greek mythos affects it (result is insanity 2 on my psyche)
the god’s personalities also dont really feel matched they just feel like Normal Fantasy Gods that Act Mystical and Shit
