idk, i don’t really write and never bothered to get into it but i made this in like a couple of minutes
“Say… You were there when the incident happened… correct?” A strange man softly spoke, he leaned back against his chair, his cracked navy blue gauntlet can be seen shining a bit. His beard crooked as ever, “It’s really a rare sight to see isn’t it?” He asked, smiling.
“Y-Yes sir,” The Navy Major said, gulping at the presence of this man, “B-But sir, Headquarters says that you’ll be transferred to a-another post,” He paused, catching a breath. “Commodore Kai was said to take this post when you transfer to the one in… S-” He stopped, hesitating to continue.
The two shared a look at each other, “Commodore Kai…” He said, nodding. “Interesting pick I’d say so myself, I heard many good deeds Commodore Kai has done and his achievement in the Navy.” He sighed, “It makes sense, I heard he was a very good leader too…” He noted before looking at the Major.
He slightly rubbed his neck as it was feeling stiff, “Then… W-What will be y-your opinion on this s-sir…?” Nervously asked the Major, the thought of this scared him more than anything, and he had fought a disastrous level enemy and yet, a man’s answer was scarier than any of those.
He tapped the table, “I think this choice does make sense, I understand why I would be transferred and be replaced by Commodore Kai, scratch that, I am happy knowing there’ll be someone who has a good sense of justice as me and will be taking this outpost.” He happily smiled.
The Major looked relieved, smiling. “A-Also… Headquarters said that transferring will result a-a promotion sir.” He said and pulled out a letter in which he placed it on the table, he then backed away. “This is also… f-from the Headquarters too…”
He looked at the letter before opening it, shocked. “This is from… Admiral Cyneric…” He took a deep breath before reading more into it. “A congratulations letter, that is very unexpected of him…” He closed the letter and looked at the Major, “Well… It seems that now… I am officially in the ranks of admirals.” He laughed, “Say… When will the transfer take action?”
“U-Uh… Maybe next week sir, Headquarters gave us time to pack before going, they said the journey there will be pretty long.” He answered him, “Sir… Do I still refer to you as Sir… or as Rear-Admiral Archibald…” He rubbed his head, realizing how dumb the question was. “Nevermind that actually!”
He laughed, “Any is fine, formality isn’t my style but it seems like I must be a little bit strict with that, but you can still refer to me as sir, the only time you refer to me as Rear Admiral is when we’re in a meeting with the other officers.” He stood up and walked over to the Major, “What are we waiting for, let’s pack up.” He then patted his back before leaving the room.
“Y-Yes sir!” He then followed behind Archibald.
