[AO] Personal Feedback Collection

Search bar will save Arcane Odyssey, I generally spend like half of gameplay in my inventory just trying to find the items actually worth wearing

If it’s there for blacksmiths and such too that cuts the headache for weapons users and buildmaking in half

Haven’t been keeping up with them very well but spirit walk / swordstep looks like a really fun mobility skill.

I think it’s good for the balancers to be closer to Vetex but

I don’t wanna talk on vetcord :skull:

Someone said it looks like disneyland and I can’t unsee it :sob:. The scale is absolutely massive though, easily solos every town we’ve seen up to this point

The NPCs really lack mechanical depth. They pretty much don’t do anything besides throwing aimbot attacks straight towards you and dashing left and right. They don’t ever dash in a effort to chase you, and camping at long range and spamming whatever can reach is a nearly foolproof formula for every encounter.

It would be 10x cooler and make the game feel so much more alive if a grand navy ambushes for example could dismount their boats and start dashing towards you, and if they could T-jump and airstall like actual players (they did this in WoM)

Diving and farming coppershrooms on the jaws spires are probably the pinnacle of material farms in-game at the moment, would be cool to see reagents used for exploration like that more often.

It’s going well.
Surely liked all the new skills that moochezz made in so little time.
On a personal note, I hope that there will be some for guns too.

Liked the new features.

Curious of what the idea vetex came up with for agility is.

Still hoping that they don’t add other weapon slots to warrior, my fingers have enough with 3 already, honestly 2 would have worked just fine for me (just personal opinion obv).

Hope there will soon be more replayability, like things from kingdom alignment system.
Especially pirate raids/navy blockades, fell in love with that idea when I read it long ago and I still have a soft spot for it.

I currently dislike the lack of engaging PvE content and insane rarity, 1/16000 chance for a sunken item is pretty crazy, and the lack of variety of enemies bother me a bit.

I really like the direction islands are going in with Makrinos, I wish more islands have hidden number of secrets and unique drops. Hunting secrets in Makrinos was the most fun I have had in the empires update. Seeing moochezz make keybinds made me quite happy and the side boss they are adding sounds pretty cool too. Nimbus wilds also looks sick.

A boss QoL where it’s hp damage requirement changes from 20% of max to 50% of solo max (this way, it prevents people from hitting and running and then getting the drops, but still makes so you can have 16 players vs calvus scenes)

Hyper is in your house

Anyway sorry about that Randomness, I might get back to you with some answers when it’s not half past ten at night lmao

I like it, seeing quality of life changes is obviously less exciting than new content, but it’s still very welcome, as it makes gameplay better.

Oh yeah, 100%. As a weapon hybrid user, (light conj, merciful knight, thermo warlord) I’m looking forward to trying out all of this cool new stuff. It also just makes combat a lot more interesting, especially for my knight

I’m neutral on it, but it could be somewhat interesting.

I can see why it took so long. I’m gonna take my sweet time exploring Skyhall during the storyline.

Easily the lack of stuff to do once you’ve completed the storyline as a PvE player. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not one of THOSE PvE players who go “PvP is bad!!!” personally, I think PvP is awesome, just not my thing. But when it comes to the PvE experience, it’s really barren. Fort Castrum gives abysmal loot for the hell they put you through more often than not, and the Dark Sea is just a slog to go through. It’d be cool to see more replayable PvE stuff down the line.

Easily the lore and the sheer amount of build making options. Plus, the stuff planned down the line for the game has me excited, and it’s fun to discuss.

anyway, thanks for listening to my ramblings.

I’d honestly love a means to inspect items in your inventory, kinda like games with skins like TF2, even if it is just equipment and weapons. Just pull them item up with a black background, zoomed in, let you click and drag to rotate it.

A lot of stuff looks sick but the compression and scaling in the inventory can make it look awful, especially chestpieces and leggings that are just shirts and pants. Just look at how chainmail shirts look in the inventory UI compared to when worn even when it’s bigger in the enchanter UI. Also, it would make adding images to the wiki better, since the gem slots wouldn’t cover anything. Plus, once cooler stuff is added like spirit weapons or armor pieces, it could make the experience in getting them more enjoyable because you can get a good look at what you just got. Imagine fishing up your first sunken, it’s the one you want, and pulling it up on the inspection UI as you’re popping off.

This could also be integrated in shops potentially, like the dyer or auction, so you can get a better look at what you’re considering buying.

My favorite part of AO is definately character creation and the style, so more tools to look at stuff would go kinda crazy.

amazing features moochezz is saving this game

I know bcord is biased towards pvp but giving a bunch of 13 year olds a say on this games balance isn’t a good idea

A bunch of minor problems making the whole game feel terrible to play

guns

its gonna feel amazing finally having them, the only other qol thing i can think of is pretty niche but that would be a way to change the cursor (i really hate aos)

not sure how to feel about the new spirit weapon (i dont remember the name but its the staff)
on one hand, it does seem fun to use
on the other though, all of its moves seem extremely same-y to magic.

dont use vetcord so i dont care

lack of interesting interesting replayable pve content, only fun thing atm is just trying to survive later DS layers

the fact that development seems to be going far smoother now

Exploring islands, especially those released post-nimbus.
Bossfights.
Dark sea exploration.
Suffocating my enemies in infinite poison.

Features being released in incredibly poorly thought-out states.
Vetex adamantly defending his worst ideas even when they actively harm the game.
Repeated updates that make those things that I mention that I like worse to cater to the competitive side of the community.

fire, if i could i would ask for surge bug fix

cracked

it would make the balanceheads mad which would be funny, plus it could bring order to the clan server

npc ai is rudimentary, random block/parry/dodging is wonky. make them more playerlike so that dashing away and spamming projectiles isnt the only available strat

sheer amount of customizability, hope this gets improved next update

A good question is, will my pc burn in skyhall?

Thank you for all this information! I’ll give it a good read through at some point soon!

Here are the answers two weeks overdue:

Love them
Love them
Okay with it
Love it
Hecate Essence being too rare (okay i’ll be realistic: clans being too overly encouraged to pvp)
The storyline
