[AO Shanty/Song] Rolling down to Palo Town

Seen a few topics of sea shanties, so I decided to make my own.
This one is not entirely original and instead takes from an actual sea shanty: Rolling down to Old Maui.

Not a song writer or anything, just something random I came up, and something I’d sing to while actually playing AO.

Context: Journey from dark seas, with sailors going home to Palo Town.

It’s a damn tough life, full of toil and strife
We sailors undergo.
And we won’t give a damn when the day is done
How hard the winds did blow
‘cause we’re homeward bound, tis’ a grand ol’ sound
With a good ship, taut and free
And we won’t give a damn when we drink our rum
With the girls of Palo Town

Rolling down to Palo Town, me boys
Rolling down to palo town
We’re homeward bound from chaotic grounds
Rolling down to Palo town

Once more we sail with an orderly gale
Towards our island home.
Our mainmast sprung, our travellin’s done
and we ain’t got far to roam,
For six hellish months have passed away
On the cold cold Dark seas
A living storm is after us
Thank God, we’re homward bound

Rolling down to Palo Town, me boys
Rolling down to palo town
We’re homeward bound from chaotic grounds
Rolling down to Palo town

How soft the breeze through the island trees
Now hell’s far astern
Them native maids, them navymen mates
is a-waiting our return
Even now their big brown eyes look out
Hoping some fine day to see
Our baggy sails runnin’ fore the gales
Rolling down to Palo town

Rolling down to Palo Town, me boys
Rolling down to palo town
We’re homeward bound from chaotic grounds
Rolling down to Palo town

Man, I’ve got a rhythm in my head like a real one. Too bad I don’t know how to make music. This is great!

Also:

You can always sing it like a traditional Shanty like I did (it’s kinda terrible and its only my voice).

I mostly took the tune from the Longest Johns and Dreadnoughts cover of “Old Maui”
