AO VS Deepwoken: Drip/Fashion

which game has better drip/fashion options
  • ao
  • deepwoken

I dunno man literally like all deepwoken outfits are just these boring dark black on black color schemes or torn up rags that make you look homeless

At least in AO there’s actual colors besides black/gold/brown so that’s cool

(Slightly biased but from what I’ve seen with deepwoken, literally everyone has a dark color scheme.)

Arcane Odyssey has clown noses and eye poppers, nuff said.

actually gacha club solos both

but drawing apps negdiffs all

deepwoken has better models and more detailed armors overall, but there is so little variety in what is drippy and what is just a pile of weaver together shit. And also like Typ said, literally all of the colors are the same.

AO arcspheres solo any and all helmets in Deep btw

Imma write down what I like in AO as well as Deepwoken when it comes to cosmetics.

Deepwoken
While it can be sometimes abused, I liked how the game lets you customize your hair whatever you want. instead of just being limited to sets of hair available. Many accessories in Deepwoken are original models made for the game, thus the art style suits the game’s art direction very well and doesn’t have to conflict with the body pack 1.0 the game used.

Arcane Odyssey
The amount of items in the game makes people have many varying and different looks compared to DW where high levels usually look the same, you will find those who look as edgy as possible to clowns dressing goofy. Compared to DW, you can wear things for cosmetics without having to pay for them so long you own the item, which in my opinion one of the plus of AO compared to DW

My conclusion:
I would say AO when it comes to customization wins here, but Deepwoken does its cosmetic that suits the world-building better but at the cost of making almost everyone look the same.

speaking of this, i’m thinking about how i should make my drip/character customization in my game Winged Warriors

the game uses custom rigs btw

i’ll probably make the system similar to gacha club or arcane odyssey

or straight up let players be able to upload CUSTOM IMAGES as their clothes or IMPORT ROBLOX ACCESSORIES

ao definitely has better drip in terms of the amount of variety and color, but I really wish it had at least a few accessories similar to deepwoken’s style of longcoats

Hear me out but customization should be way more priority compared to silly “worldbuilding”

Like it should be ENCOURAGED to be wearing a clown nose and polka dot bowtie while fighting some sort of eldritch abomination

deepwoken has more detail in a few things but the options are far more limited and all look the same dark/edgy stuff

zero vibrance in anything

Custom shirt ID might be abused a lot, remembering the old Rogue Lineage era where many uber classes wear bypassed shirts

I just wish/hope AO gets some custom armor models (especially for things like major bosses in the future, it would really be boring to see the same recolored roblox catalog model used for some Titan or the King Admiral or something)

This is actually a pretty nuanced question.

AO in regards to the variety of aesthetics the drip covers. You can do a helluva lot with AO’s drip selection, and it’s pretty damn awesome. It’s also not nightmarishly hard to obtain some of the best drip.

However, where Deepwoken has AO beaten is in the quality of the drip. Listen, you cannot tell me that the Justicar Coats don’t no-diff the Fancy Suits or Calvus’s armor. Deepwoken has amazing modelers and graphical details like that, which makes a lot of the drip pieces pop.

However, this situation where Deepwoken has one up in one factor can be beaten… Pretty easily.
We’ve all seen ins. Bro has literally told us how it works on a technical level. It’s not heavy on performance impact either.
This could fucking work for AO too, if Vetex would do it/accept modeler help for it (pleasegodVetexdoaccepthelpforitthiswouldbefuckingawesome)

are we forgetting that 80% of the in game items are just reskins of roblox store items

no seriously you can make the same avatars in the roblox store

the biggest issue with deepwoken is that everything looks pretty much the same

like if you showed a non deepwoken player a royal pathfinder then after 5 minutes one of the other coat accessories chances are they won’t be able to spot the differences in model

Just found the model for the princess of Jotunheim

Yeah, this is what I meant; Deepwoken has high-quality drip, but it has literally zero room for aesthetics.
Royal Pathfinder is just the symbol of tryharding or boosted. Justicar coats indicate either some fashion sense, or just a chaser of loot in a guild.

It still has the better-made drip, tho.
I wish Vetex would start getting more unique drip in AO. Especially with some of the physics like Deepwoken stuff has (Again, ins shows how efficient it is)

If AO’s variety had Deepwoken quality woven into certain pieces of it, this game would be, singlehandedly, the drippiest game on Roblox.

ALSO, MORE HAIR OPTIONS WHEN, VETEX?! UGC SHIT IS FIRE AND OLD ROBLOX HAIRS AIN’T IT NOW :fire:

This is honestly my only real complaint about AO.
It’s using mostly some of the… Kinda bad ROBLOX-made hairs from the catalog.
Vetex has like 6 UGC items in the hair selection already… Why hasn’t he added more UGC hairs to the customization options?

If he needs some hairs for it, bro, Sparkplug84; my profile, go to favorites, check hair. I am doing my god-damnedest to collect every UGC hair I can in a place for game devs and animators to look through and use for their games!
