AOMC Headcanon: Abilities

As we know, the Arcane Odyssey Main Character will likely appear in the books written by Vetex later down the line. Before then, however, I’d like to see what everyone thinks their “abilities” will likely be. Abilities involve everything we can wield in game, and more such as sensing that we will wield in the future.

Magic

Prediction: 2 Magics. I assumed Lighting and Water based on stuff said in the QnA and also their connections to specific gods.

Lightning ==> Divine Lighting

Water

Fighting Styles

I don’t know why but I don’t assume that they’d wield a Fighting Style as a main weapon. Sure, they’d be strong and be able to punch but I feel like the chosen one has better choices.

None Specific/Basic Combat

Weapons

Once again, I don’t assume this guy would wield a big heavy sword. Perhaps a rapier or shorter blade would work better. Just have that feeling, might be something with them literally being descended from a God and able to wield Spirit Energy in ways nobody else seemingly can.

One Handed Blade

Spirit

Yeah we know from stuff Vetex has said that the MC can manipulate Spirit Energy without Spirit Weapons. I assume they’d still use the Eagle Patrimony though.

Eagle Patrimony

Divine God Powers

Combat Style

I cannot shake the feeling with suggestions in the QnA that Lightning magic is perhaps the “canon” first magic of the MC and the presence of Astrapikis and Astropos on the Eagle Patrimony that the MC uses their abilities of Magic and Spirit in mirrored combination.

Other

Pretty obvious

Dodge Reflex (Ekrix?)

Sensing

okay ramblings over what terrible terrible ideas do we have

MC probably uses a dagger as their primary weapon and a flintlock as their secondary because that’s what we receive at the start

true I forgot about the flintlock

i know we were told the mc is a savant, but i think they’re actually some kind of super savant with the same amount of proficiency in each stat as its pure build would have in game, meaning they’ll be able to get 3 magics and an ancient magic
this would also be saying that they get 3 fighting styles as well, but i’m not sure if they would choose to, just seems like a lot

this is mainly just because the peacekeeper got 3 magics, so if the mc is supposed to end up as stronger than the peacekeeper at the end of the story i feel like they should probably be proficient enough in magic to also get 3 magics

Sensory assault. They trained to specialize in replicating the booming sound of lightning with impeccable accuracy. At first they’ll keep their distance, conjuring near-constant bursts and strikes of thunder erupting all around, and even if they’re not very strong, they are loud. You’ll suffer ringing ears, blurring vision, total deafness before long, and this is without their attacks even needing to land. If you thought size mages were bad wait until you see noisemancers.

They’ll use spirit energy to deform the ground, causing huge ruptures of earth and kicking up dense dust clouds that are impossible to see through. They rely on their superior senses while their opponent is left completely befuddled, with no hearing, no sight, no smell other than dirt and filth, and if they get paralyzed by the lightning they may even lose touch. Once the enemy is like this, the MC closes in to finish the job with their weapons and fighting style.

As for how the MC themself doesn’t go deaf from this strategy, I have two ideas:

  • Constantly using healing spirit rites in their ears, similar to Gojo’s 24/7 RCTs but more localized.
  • Using spirit energy to permanently alter their physiology to develop resistance to deafening sounds.

Speaking of spirit energy’s biomancy capabilities! The MC is terrified of them. Doesn’t do it unless they have to. They embody the stormy, thunderous power of Zeus, while rejecting the shapeshifting side of him.

They already completely lost their memory; they can’t stand the thought of losing who they are on a physical level too. If they look in the mirror and can’t recognize who they are now, there’s no chance they could ever remember who they were then.

If they use any biomancy at all, it’ll be on their internals, like the eardrum fortification thing I mentioned. So long as it doesn’t change how they look on their exterior, it’s not too bad. However, they’re wary of that too, since modifying parts of your body that you can’t see is super dangerous (especially with this era’s limited medical knowledge).

As for their weapons, probably a gun. They have a lot of experience with pistols since a flintlock was one of their first weapons, and it fits with the LOUD NOISE GO!!! theme. They’ve long since swapped out the dagger for a giant sword (cause they’re a normie) that they wield with one hand.

They imbue the strength weapon with magic and spirit energy, and keep their other hand free to use their fighting style with; using unique hand movements to direct magic energy in shapes and patterns a weapon or circle couldn’t.

They wear lightweight arcanium armor to stay nimble, and generally walk with their body wreathed in stormclouds like mist, either to obscure themself or as a form of defense, delivering a nasty shock to anyone who comes close. The air is distinctly humid wherever they go.

There is something so tranquil about the storms they produce. The clouds are so dense with spirit energy, they turn bright gold, like powdered coins rolling across the sky. Of course, it’s not so tranquil when the lightning strikes, razing an entire field in flame. At the very least, something new might grow from the charred soil.

Can you imagine all of that thundering might, the boundless energy of both magic and soul in a devastating synthesis, condensed into a single punch, or the sweeping of a blade? There is a reason the MC tends to finish their fights up close and personal after confounding your senses with distant spells and rites. Not only does it reduce collateral and environmental damage, it just hits HARD.

Alright. That’s my piece. Feel free to add onto this or discuss other headcanons.

I take that part back actually, we all know how good the MC is at stealth

their personality rivals that of a rock

:white_check_mark:

(body is not too short)

i get curious what’s their name gonna be and their appereance

i doubt that learning how to use multiple fighting styles only through awakening is canon

the mc most likely sticks with basic combat the whole time, learns how to imbue magic onto weapons through experience and training, and only gets new magics through their awakenings

i’m not saying they get a fighting style from awakening, they’d need a mentor, and i think it’s likely that they’ll at least pick up a lost fighting style like radius fist or something

oh god imagine explosion imbued radius stomp

covers the entirety of jotunheim

even worse, apocalypse imbued radius fist since they’re a supersavant

and then legendary polearm + radius imbue + apocalypse imbue + max size + ultimate art sparrow thrust

and perses spirit imbue

I believe canonically they’ll do the Dragonblood ritual because they needed a way to get on a similar level to curse users

We aren’t the main character in AO? What the hell did i miss…

but isn’t that only in the dark sea? The MC canonically ignores the dark sea

Ruby Roger is the main character and our story is a mere side plot
