So I found a problem with the trello, and it’s this:
Unholy Beasts are weaker than nightmarish if I recall
Anyways, I personally feel like mount othrys would just either be straight up uninhabited, or by far the most populated, because like it’s the largest island with an extremely hard way to get up, plus it’s apparently completely blockaded by atlanteans, so realistically I don’t really think it would be “small settlement” nor how these survivors had the time to strip down their boats for parts with the atlantean blockade
Prior to the invasion, the Order was essentially the same as it is in the canon timeline. However, in addition to furthering the use of magic by any means, they also monitor the current amounts of magic pollution in the War Seas. In the buildup to the invasion, many order members noticed that the levels of magic pollution in the War Seas started becoming higher than normal, steadily building until it reached a tipping point.
With the mass invasion of Atlanteans in the War Seas, the Order shifted its goals into capturing and studying as many of them as they could in order to learn more about them. Of course, given their shady methods, they also kidnap healthy humans and experiment on them, deliberately infecting them to see if a potential cure can be discovered.
All high-ranking Order members are required to report to the order about the status of the infection in their respective section of the War Seas, but given the fact that both Argos and Calvus have become infected, it means that they’ve effectively lost contact with the Bronze Sea. Time will tell to see if the other Order-affiliated parts of the War Seas retain their leaders.
Morden’s one of many people currently locked up in one of the Order’s testing facilities. He’s been infected after an experiment involving injecting Atlantean blood into a human subject, though the Order’s been keeping his mutations in check as much as they could. Due to his infected status, most of the other Atlanteans there leave Morden be, but some Order researchers notice that Morden seems to be communicating with them. Further examination is needed.
Cirrus Island: The Events, at least concerning the characters I know of.
Cirrus Island (And friends) is the third largest stronghold in the Bronze Sea. With rich food supplies and a secure defence, even if Atlanteans made it up the stepstones, the remaining guardians of the island would only need to take all the skyships with them to other parts of the sky and be safe from all but the strongest of enemies.
Week 1:
The survivors of the Battle of the Stepstones retreat onto the island, alert the citizens there and start a defence movement
Lady Carina makes her way up the mountain, gravely injured. Elius takes her to the Djin Ruins
Elius kills Lady Carina to stop her losing her mind to the mutation. The guilt of this starts to take a toll.
Week 2:
Arish Vista founds the North Bronze Defence Alliance
Arish Vista and Tobias Cynthia Gael invite Lord Elius to the Alliance.
Arish and Tobias spot Megan chilling on The Myriad
Talks begin with leaders in Redwake, including the Chef’s Resistance and Redwake Warriors.
Aiedail, The Souless, Arrives at the Stepstones, and after a fight with Tobias Cynthia, falls unconcious.
Week 3:
Aiedail wakes up, throughout the peaceful next few weeks they grow a close bond with Tobias Cynthia.
The Redwake Warriors agree to assist the Alliance.
Up to Month 4
These months are relatively peaceful despite what is happening in the rest of the sea.
Food supplies are dwindling on Redwake, nobody takes much notice.
Aiedail and Tobias’ wholesome moments
Megan agrees to assist the Alliance
Months 4 - 6
Near the start of these months, an Atlantean force pushed their way up the Stepstones. They attempted to invade Cirrus Island.
This battle, The Second Battle of the Stepstones lasted four days.
Rune Phoenix, Nightmarish (Or Unholy Beast, whichever is the weaker of the two) Atlantean, attacked the stepstones. Armed with a rifle made of bones, and a trident made of a Siren’s wing she killed up to twenty Cirrus Island residents, and injured Tobias Cynthia.
Aiedail and Tobias manage to kill Rune, who’s body falls down the stepstones. Tobias creates a gravestone for them next to Carina’s
Later, Redwake cuts off communications with Cirrus as they cannot maintain the food exports.
Months 6 - 8
As the Alliance is shattered, Arish Vista turns his focus to defending solely Cirrus.
Tobias Cynthia is out of action for a few months. Aiedail takes them to the Djin Ruins whilst they recover.
No more attempts would be made to reclaim the stepstones.
With Megan’s experience, Cirrus Island now becomes almost impenetrable to Atlanteans. Food supplies are good, however soil is losing fertility.
Months 8+
The Fourth of the Hexagon, Emperor, Legendary Atlantean
Although the rest of the Hexagon other than Aiedail are dead, Emperor survived in the depths of the Dark Sea after Durza’s first explosion. After using ooh forbidden technique to get rid of their soul, they became quite powerful, having resistance to attacks which target the human (or atlantean) spirit (Such as the ones Tobias Cynthia uses). Due to having lived in the furthest parts of the Dark Sea, and having been exposed to extreme weather, they can be classified as a Legendary Atlantean, although a weak one comparatively to Ruby Rodger and Martin. They only made it as far as the dark sea due to curiosity, wanting to know why there was a huge migration.
With ease, the Legendary Atlantean ascends the Stepstones and begins attacking Cirrus. The forces there fight back to little avail.
Aiedail and Tobias rush back to Cirrus to try and stave off the attack, after Tobias mentions the lack of soul to target, Aiedail realises that they must be fighting another of the Hexagon.
During the fight, a full evacuation of Cirrus is ordered.
Arish Vista is thrown off the edge of the sky islands, falling down to what is assumed to be death.
Aeidail and Tobias lure the Atlantean away, taking a skyship and sailing into the Dark Sea. Emperor follows. Their story continues away from Cirrus.
After that, Cirrus has to rebuild and redefend, having lost multiple of their best warriors. Until the next threat appears, they remain a stronghold and a light to all survivors.
If anyone else wants to continue, go ahead.
i saw this on the trello, and thought it would be a fun idea to make ‘nicknames’ for the islands depending on their current ‘condition’ for some of them
its cringe i know but whatever
Since we’ve got plenty of dark and depressing takes already, why not lighten the mood a bit with a joke take? Here’s what might happen to Ruby Roger.
When the Atlanteans invade Frostmill, Roger books it out of there as fast as he can (with Clark Silvers, of course). He drifts for a while before ending up in Palo Town, helping to evacuate civilians on his boat. He unfortunately ends up infected while fending off an Atlantean, but before he mutates, he throws himself into the ocean as Silvers and the people he was able to save sail towards the Stepstones.
Deep under the waves, Roger starts to grow larger and larger as he mutates, eventually becoming big enough to rival a White Eyes in size. He becomes more sharklike in nature, his lower half mutating into an enormous tail. However, he still retains his human mind and jovial attitude, eventually taking it upon himself to save more people and carry them to safe zones.
Though, given his status as an enormous sea monster, anyone who sees him likely ends up even more panicked than usual. A typical interaction might play out something like this:
Atlantean brig chases refugee ship, gets sunk before it can ram it. Roger appears and introduces himself to survivors.
1, originally i wanted to be the one to create the story for ruby, but it seems like you beat me to it
2, wait so Ruby is that one person in those infection stories to be infected but ‘friendly’?
Sorry lmao. If you still wanna make your own story, go for it!
So far, yeah. Ambanes still has his human mind (mostly) after being infected, but he’s been overcome by the urge to spread the “gift” of mutation across the Bronze Sea.
its not like my ‘version’ would be any better tbh (it involves ruby scavanging the islands and sinking ships but ultimately getting infected by staying in the now polluted water for too long)
question about the [abyss sea] ‘stories’ in Writing
can ANYONE write a short story about this ‘au’ and put the [abyss sea] ‘tag’ on it as long as it’s accurate to the ‘lore/plot’?
It actually doesnt even have to be closely accurate to the lore/plot of the AU! It just has to take place within the context of an Atlantean Invasion (and even then it doesnt have to be associated with Abyss, it could just be someone’s own Atlantean Invasion story)
yknow that also gave me the better idea of making the little [ABYSS SEA] title thing a tag instead, cause rn its looking really messy in the writing topic
